Quest: Trapped Miner

This is the first quest I've designed! Please vote, and voice your opinions on it :D

Title: Trapped Miner

Location: Somewhere on the edge of Olux Swamps

Starting NPC: Nibroc

Other NPCs: Jem, Meshad

Difficulty : Medium

Level: 58

(Talk to Nibroc)

[1/5] Nibroc: There used to be a mineshaft in this cave. A few weeks ago, the rocks collapsed and trapped the miners, including my friend Meshad.

[2/5] Nibroc: I thought he was dead, but once when I was walking by, I heard his voice shouting.

[3/5] Nibroc: It turns out that he was the sole survivor of the cave-in, and he used the leftover tools to dig close enough for me to hear him.

[4/5] Nibroc: The thickest boulders are near the surface. We have a crane to lift them up, but our nets aren’t strong enough to pick them up.

[5/5] Nibroc: There is a netmaker in the nearby village of Bucie. He may be able to help us.

[1/3] Jem: Ye, I make the nets. What d’ya need?

[2/3] Jem: For one that strong, I’m gonna need ya to kill some monsters.

[3/3] Jem: Bring me [8 Naga Tails], [8 Alga], and [16 String], and I’ll see what I can do.

[1/2] Jem: Back so soon? Ah, you got what I needed.

*He starts weaving the net. It takes a while, but he comes out of his room with the finished product*

[2/2] Jem: Take this here net. I hope it’s just what ya need.

[1/4] Nibroc: Great, you got it! I’ll attach the net myself.

[2/4] Nibroc: Now I can lift the rocks...

(Explosion particles and sound, then the rocks aren’t there anymore)

[3/4] Nibroc: You can enter now. Please find my friend!

[4/4] Nibroc: Oh, by the way - there are many tunnels and dead ends. Try not to get lost.

Inside the cave, there are 2 mobs - Suffocated Miners and Cave Bats (already exist)


Suffocated Miners:


Zombies wearing dyed hat and holding a diamond pickaxe

1800 HP

100 regen/8 seconds

220 Damage

Weak to air, earth defense and damage

Will attack you, then turn back when hit


[1/3] Meshad: Thank goodness, You found me! I’m saved!

[2/3] Meshad: Is Nibroc still up there, waiting for me?

[3/3] Meshad: You’d better return this to him before I come up. I need to fix some stuff down here in this mine…

(You get an unidentified rare bracelet from him, level 56-60)

[1/3] Nibroc: You found him? That’s great!

[2/3] Nibroc: I’ll go down as soon as we fix the cave. Don’t want another collapse, do we?

[3/3] Nibroc: Oh, the bracelet? I lent that to him a while back. You can have it if you want. Also take some emeralds as a reward.

Jem: You want nets? I make nets!

After Nibroc asks you to get a net:

Nibroc: There's a netmaker in Bucie who can help us. What are you waiting for?

After Jem asks you to get materials:

Jem: To make a net as strong as you say, bring me [8 Naga Tails], [8 Alga], and [16 String].

After Jem gives you the net:

Jem: I already gave ya the net, what now?

After Nibroc tells you to find Meshad:

Nibroc: My friend is down there, find him!

After talking to Meshad:

Meshad: Gotta make this cave stable before I can head up myself.

Alga is a drop from some mobs in Olux Swamps. It's probably a reference to Algae though.

Time to list stuff. (Shameless self-advertising: Looking at another quest suggestion, say, one of mine, might help a bit.)
Okay.
1. Quest text, like it is shown in game. The coloring is certainly not fine and it really doesn't look correct.
2. Same with the items. Arch didn't put an example, but here is the reworked Ruby Bracelet (I changed the earth to fire because rubies are associated with fire):

3. Improved mob stats! I tell 'em time and time again but they're always the same. You need:
Finer Health (2k is too much for a normal mob anyways)
Regen
Finer Looks
Finer Damage
AI Type
4. Explain the bracer a bit more? He just gives it to you? I mean, even if Nibroc gave it to him, it still makes no sense. How about "I found this in one of the tunnels, take it! Without you I would have starved to death!". Instead of Nibroc saying he gave it to him, just let him say "You can keep that, he gave it to you, not me."
5. The "Quest Book Updated", "New Quest Started", and "Quest Complete" are not purple. They are grey, except for the Quest Complete, which is orange with the rewards in grey.
6. Rewards. It would help if you actually looked at quests near that level and used that to help you- Should be around 50-70 thousand XP points.

Other than the common mistakes that I see, not a bad original story, just fix my little slightly exasperative feedback and I'll be fine with this.

Oh, and PS Arch,

The item color is one shade darker.

Endertricity this is an awesome quest and I hope you remember Josh1366, my main account that helped you with Tribal Aggression or at least tried to.

 

This quest is quite short... but still good +1

tbh this quest should be Easy not Medium but that is all that should change. I hope this gets added :D

 

I like this idea, it is very original and I see no flaws, it is not too long or short and I think the rewards are quite balanced. +1
