    With the Gavel update, identifying items got a re-haul: no longer do we have to pay increasing costs for one id at a time, we can do that in one go, which I really like. However, what if Luck was able to slightly influence the RGN of the values for all ids? The max values would remained unchanged, luck would only increase the chances of getting something of the average value or max out the id, depending on how much luck is stacked.

    So basically half of the market would be max IDs because of people who will inevitably get 'luck gear;

    Not necessarily max, but there would be an increase of items above the avg value.
    The idea is to avoid items with below avg values, so the luck could be capped at a certain value if this proved too op

    once again, thatll mess up the market since there would be no terrible ID stuff, making average or above average the same as terrible today.

    For late game players who do have high luck, fair enough argument.
    So help me think through this then: for unique items luck plays little if any effect; rare items will have some, but only fall below the avg, say 15% instead of 30%, and legendary items only fall below avg by 5% (at a hypothetical maxed out luck value)

    I really dont think they should do this luck thing at all. Cause the market is already inflated and if you make is so that (even slightly) items have better IDs, more items will be the same.

    Good reasoning. And I also just realized I've been typing "Luck" instead of "Loot." Stupid me.
