World A New Take On The Mana / Hunger Regeneration Issue

    Hello. I'm back.
    So, today I bring you a suggestion regarding that of Mana regeneration, and how it conflicts with your ability to run. Now please, save your groaning, because I present a possible solution that is unlike anything I have seen on the forums before.
    So, we all know that in the gavel update, your health and mana is shown in numbers above your actual health and mana which is shown in icons. Health has been made into precise, large digited numbers which is great, as it allows you to precisely see how much health you have in a very specific mana and allows damage taken to be more accurate. Unfortunately, mana still was stuck with the boring old Minecraft limit: 20 units.
    My suggestion: Multiply this mana limit, as well as all the amount of mana that spells cost by 10, but leave hunger to deplete your mana at the exact same unit rate before. For clarification, say for example right now, running depletes your mana at 2 units per second, and bomb arrows costs 8 units of mana to cast. With this new suggestion, running would still deplete your mana at 2 units per second, but bomb arrow would now cost 80 units instead.
    I suggest this for two reasons: Firstly, this will hopefully solve the problem of how 'running is killing all my mana and its stupid make running not cost manaaaaa,' yet it will still leave you at least considering to drain all your mana, or to leave maybe 10 so that you can run away. It doesn't completely remove the choice whether or not to run from the system, but it makes it much less punishing. Secondly, this opens ups opportunities for introducing an ID that slightly increases your maximum mana; it also makes your intelligence skill much more specific and accurate. Instead of having a spell cost 8 mana and then immediately drop to 7 mana, it would be something much more like 78 mana to 76 mana.

    I was thinking about this, but I think I see a problem. I think the way the sprinting drain is calculated is by actual in-game bars. That can not be changed. If you can change it, this would be great. But I think that's the whole problem.

    This was planned in-game before, but scrapped due to apparent issues with it.

    It seemed as though you were planned to have 100 mana, with spells costing five times more than normal to compensate. This is why some certain, random items(before they were nerfed) had stats such as 10 Mana Regen or 6 Mana Steal.

    Apparently, though, the system fell through. I don't think it will be implemented now if it was rejected before, unfortunately.
