So, with the new Gavel update we were given a ton of new AIs. So naturally I started thinking of other cool ones that could be added. So, yeah, here they are! If any of these actually exist please tell me. And as always, this is just a concept, so don't expect anything super fancy. Feel free to comment what you think or other ones!

    --------------------------------------------

    Note:

I have seen many things in the comments about how it would be bad if many mobs with this AI were around. Like 5 eaters fallowing you.

Let's assume that perhaps only a few wolf mobs had the eater AI and they were called "Wolf Muncher" or something. Imagine that only specific mobs had the AI. That might help visualize.

    --------------------------------------------

    Follower:

A mob that will try to stay out of a 10 block radius from you. It starts off passive btw. And if you manage to get within 5 blocks of it, it will change to an orange name tag, meaning its a follower. And he is basically like the blue name tag mobs that help you fight, but will fallow you around instead of staying in one spot. Once he changed he will fallow you for 5:00 before trying to run away again. Or until he dies.

    --------------------------------------------

    Prove Your Worth Fallower:

Ok, so this one's a tad bit complicated. Imagine that the mob has two health bars, each with 50 health. It is hostile. When you damage it you take away from the first 50 health chunk. And when he regens health, it regens normally. But once you damage it enough to remove the first fifty health chunk, it can not regen it. Lets say it goes down to 25 health, it can only regen up to the 50 mid point, not he full hundred, as you already destroyed that bar.

Basically it has two health bars, and when you kill one bar, it can not regen it. And when it only has one bar left it will fallow you, like the AI above.

    -----------------------------------------

    Beat into submission:

Basically the one above but turns passive.

    -------------------------------------

    Reincarnation:

Basically lets say its a human/ villager mob. Lets say its passive. But when it dies it has a chance to turn into a zombie/ zombie villager mob.

    -------------------------------------

    Aura:

So the mob could be hostile, neutral, helper, callower, or passive. Really does not matter. Basically it can not attack. Like if it tries to attack it does 0 damage. But it has a field around it that damages all who come in it. So like its a living AOE attack.

    -----------------------------------

    Circler:

So I got this idea when thinking about the Devourers, and how they never stop moving. If you play modded, you might know the redcaps from twilight forest. Their AI is to circle around the back of the player. Pretty much that AI. The mob will attempt to go to the back of the player and attack from there.

    ------------------------------------

    Dropper:

This mob drops explosive stuff. It will run up to the player, drop an explosive, and run away to a safe distance

    ------------------------------------

    Eater:

So this one works like the follower, but is annoying. He will not attack anything, just will lock onto a player if the player comes into a certain range. This guy will fallow the player around until killed (in other words no time limit). But this guy will attempt to eat mob drops. Will not eat anything untradable, quest item, or XP. But can be really annoying if one locks onto you while you are trying to grind for emeralds or gear. Once he eats something he goes into a cooldown for like 5 seconds before eating the next thing. He will eat ANYTHING off of the ground that does not fit those categories, so if you accidentally drop some LE while this guy is around, sorry buddy.

Also, this guy eats items by the stack. So if there is a stack of 16 rotten flesh on the ground, he will eat all 16 at once. It there is a stack of 5 and a stack of 6 on the ground, he will east lets say the stack of 6 because its closer, and then eat the five after the cooldown. So yes, he can eat a 64 stack of LE at once!

    Other Ideas about this AI:

Makes an eating sound when it eats an item

    Drops eaten items

Drops most recent to 5 most recent item(s) eaten

    Does not drop anything

    Drops random item eaten

    -------------------------------------------------------

    Homing:

So this is not really AI but more like attack. Who here has played Mineplex Wizards? I for one love the way the mana bolt flies. Why don't we have that sort of thing in Wynn? For those of you who don't play Mineplex, or don't play the Wizard minigame, the mana bolt is the basic attack. You shoot a bolt of magic that will turn and twist to lock onto a player. It is not a 100% hit, it can be avoided, but it will still hit you if you just move a few blocks. It homes in on the nearest player.

I was thinking a mob that had the same type of spell. Imagine fighting a wizard mob or boss that shot homing projectiles at you.

    ----------------------------------

    Creeper:

A green guy that goes up to you and explode. Naw, I am just kidding. The creeper is basically a stalker. He will attempt to fallow about 10 blocks behind you. And if you turn around at him, he will try to hide behind the closest 2 block tall obstruction. He targets you just like the other fallowing AIs. He will run if you come close to him. This one may be hard to code though.

    ------------------------------------

    Healer:

This AI actually exists in-game, but only is used once (to my knowledge). So the mob basically heals surrounding mobs. The mob will not attack the player, probobly will run away, but will move to damaged mobs near is and heal them.

When fighting Bob, the diamond sword does a similar thing, but Bob goes to the sword, rather than the sword going to Bob

    ----------------------------------

    Thief:

So this one might actually be a bit OP, so IDK here. But the thief is like the eater, except it steals items from the players inventory upon hitting them. Naturally this would cause a problem if the Thief steals the players weapon or and armor that gives enough stat points for the weapon. The thief would drop all stolen items, but if you don't have a weapon to kill it with... You get the point.

Other problems with this out would be stealing soul points, quest book, compass, or if it dies in lava or fire or void and the items are gone.

(Inspired by the criminal in OreSpawn)

    ---------------------------------

    Grabber:

Similar to the thief, but only makes you drop the items onto the ground. But that could be bad enough if you cant get to them, are near fire/lava/void, or have an eater after you.

    (Inspired by Worm from Orespawn)

    -------------------------------

    Copy Cat:

Ok, so this one is funny. Once again inspired by a mod. In the Witchery mod, you can trap a demon in a mirror. But then you can go fight that demon, now called a Reflection. The Relfection has the skin of the player who is fighting it, as well as the same items, weapons, armor, and other stuff.

So, what about a mob that has the player model (like the ones in towns) but an all black skin. Like a shadow. But the mob gains the same weapon, health, armor, accessories, IDs, health, spells, ect of the first person to have hit it. But if no one hits it for 1:00, it goes back into its dormant shadow state.

I repeat, they have the same spells. That means whatever spells the player has unlocked and whatever grade they are at.

    Other Ideas about the AI:

There is also a twist to this mob. They also get the same soul points. So fighting the mob on one soul point and killing it WILL cause it to drop the gear. So its a gamble. If you fight it on 1 SP you can die and loose your stuff, or you can kill it and suddenly you have two of each piece of armor, weapon, and accessory.

If fought by a group of people, they will summon another one for each person fighting. So if Bob is fighting one, it will turn into Bob. But when Smith, John, and Joe show up to help, suddenly there are Copy Cats of All four of them.

Followers: The mercenaries in Ragni and Almuj are just like these but we need more of them.
Prove Your Worth Follower: I like these... if this can actually be coded (but Jumla coded tonnes of seemingly impossible things) then there is going to be at least a few quests like this.
Beat into Submission: I can see some cruel gm adding an 'Escaped Slave' mob now. Oh well...
Aura: Maybe... could be interesting. I'm pretty sure they can just have a mob which does this with a spell already (there are some aggressive mobs which can't move).
Circler: Don't many mobs already do this? Ok, from the side, but they can't really get behind the player as well as getting their side or front.
Dropper: It would be interesting if they added this to things like goblins...
Eater: I love this idea! It would make grinding near these mobs interesting. I think the random idea would be the best drop.

I was not sure how the mercinaries worked, so sorry bout that one.

    100% can be coded

    Escaped slave...

Aura guys can move, so it's like a moving circle of damage

Circled can easily work with high walk speed

    Dropper: exactly

Eater: yeah that might be the best. But it might cause problems if the mob ate like 100 different items

    Hi :)

I liked all the concepts, the hard part would be to execute them, some of them may be impossible to do or even cause a lot of lag - most AIs in game are simple because more complicated AIs usually cause lag I believe, since the code would be more complex and that takes more time to process (like the eater one, being able to consume certain items on the ground, I don't see how they would be able to successfully implement such a change without adding more plugins, or they would have to implement command blocks, but this sounds like more trouble then it's worth. Assuming that such things are possible - I'm no coder, I have no idea - they would be an amazing addition to the game).

Of course they all sound great, and if such behaviors are possible I would like to see them implemented.

(The one thing I'd like to point out is that some of the AI behaviors here already exists in game, and just changing some details about them seems unnecessary, like the follower and the circler.)

I am not 100% familiar with all existing AIs, but I did state that some of them may already exists.

As for your lag problem, as for as I know Mob Artificial Intelligence do not cause lag.

They are all do-able. Many of them I have seen exist in Mods or Plugins or other things. If it exists in a Mod, it usually can not work un-modded. Except when AIs are concerned. If they could make the AIs we already have, these concept would be not problem.

    Hey,
most - if not all- of thoseconcepts sound great, but likeNaraka00 allready said, some of them seem impossible to do. Also I see a problem of some og them spawning in hordes, like normal AIs most of the times do. Just imagine a group of 5-10 eaters following you...
But ey, like I said, there are some really good concepts. For example, i really like the Aura-concept.
