A lot of people probably think the same thing when they see the title "why not just use the website?"
Well I can give you 3 reasons why it would be Benifital to have a map in-game.

    1. No tabbing out
Easily being able to cheak your area on the fly.

    2. Birds-eye view
A perspective looking straight down on your enviroment offers a greater understanding of your surroundings.

    3. Find your path
Being able to see your position and direction in your area is very usefull when trying to navigate confusing areas such as the olux swamp.

Quest: such a usefull item cannot be aquired without trial, introducing the new quest "the ways of the world"
    lvl min: 50
    Difficulty: hard |
meet Marco on his boat around x:-1995 z:4213 (I don't know how big the boat is)
    Dialog:
    "hello there adventurer!"
"Sorry, I'm far to busy to chat."
" you see, we were supposed to go on a great expedition today, but we don't have enough supplies."
"I'm afraid we'll have to wait several more weeks until the weather is good enough to set sail."
"Really? You could get the supplies for me?"
    "Ok, I need
[1 zombie nose], [1 venomous spider fang], [1 pixie dust], [1 frozen wolf pelt], [1 antenna], and [1 bacon]."
    "Don't ask what for."
"To get everything, you will have to travel to many different climates. Bring me the supplies and i will make it worth your while."

    [Quest book updated]

(When talking to npc while quest is active)
"You should get going now if you want to get everything!"

(Skip to turning the items in)

"Hello again, do you have the supplies?"
"I can't thank you enough, friend!"
"Here is your payment as promised"

[Quest complete] +70,000 xp +640 emeralds +marco's map

    (After quest is complete)

"Have you seen my map? I must have misplaced it somewere..."

Notes: in case you were confused, the required items are gotten from different special mobs in semi-obvious locations, similar to the lonely spider. Examples: juicy pigman is in the pigman ravines, creepy crawly is near the silverfish pit, decaying pixie is in the Llevigar plains, snooty zombie is in the deltas suburbs, venomous spider is in the Nivla woods, alpha wolf is in Nesaak area.

Inside the boat there are three merchants, a map updater, a map maker, and a trifold map merchant. The map updater updates your maps after a map push. The trifold map merchant sells you a trifold map, this you can store all of your maps in to not destroy your inventory space (only works with maps). The map maker sells maps for the price of [marco's map] (reusable) and a tp scroll from the city in the area you want a map of. Examples: troms tp scroll = dernal jungle, jungle village and troms areas; ragni tp scroll = emerald trail, maltic, and ragni areas; Nesaak tp scroll = snow plains, house of twain, and ToA area.

Why not simply using a Mod Map (Rei's Minimap) (Journey Map) (Map Writer)
Also, I don't think it will be that easy to make a map that works for all the province.

also unless you have a way to continuously change the map in our inventory you will need a different map for each part of the world

You should know your way around Wynn. Wynn is generally smaller and doesn't need this.

I think it would be a nice utility item. Yes, gavel does already have maps, but unless you have a great memory and sense of direction they're only useful when standing in front of them.

On that side, think of it this way: What if someone used the map to see content they weren't supposed to from the development server?

Well, generally this type of things are UNDER the ground, so you can't see them. But, If someone could ever see those things... Well, it will only appear a few points (Chests). Furthermore, I guess you won't be able to see NPC and Enemies with that map?

The maps are pre-loaded and there are only maps for publicly released updates. Also im sure anybody testing on a development server can be trusted.

Thanks, you have XD the maps are already loaded for the area, you can craft paper around a map to make it larger, I thought this would work well because all of the climate areas are sort of square shaped already. Yeah, the requirements are kind of ridiculous, I'll have to take you up on that suggestion.
