The reason this thread is named "A Different Take On Travelling Merchants" instead of just "Travelling Merchants" is because there is alredy an existing one named that, and I guess you could say that this thread is "inspired" from that.

At the start of every day there will be a 1/15 chance of a "Travelling Merchant" appearing in a town.
When you a travelling merchant appears, a server shout such as "A Travelling Merchant has appeared in Nemract!"

Then when nighttime comes this messeage will show up: "The Travelling Merchant is departing!"

A "Travelling Merchant" can sell between 5-7 items, every item has a very, very high chance of being either Unique or even Legendary, however, he sells them for a ridicolous price.

The items lvl's will be based on wich town he is in, such as if he is in Nemract then they will be around lvl 20-35, if he is in Neesak it is 40-55, Olux it is 50-65 ect.

There will only be 6 different towns that he can appear in.

    Nemract: Item lvl between 20-35

    Selchar: Item lvl between 30-45

    Neesak: Item lvl between 40-55

    Olux: Item lvl between 50-65

    Cinfras: Item lvl between 70-80

    Thesead: Item lvl between 80-95

When a Travelling Merchant appears in a city he just stands there like any other merchant would do, you walk up to him and right click him and see what he's got in store for you.

You might say that this will make legendaries more common wich will "make the game worse".
That however is not true, as I already mentioned that there is only 1/15 chance of a travelling merchant spawning. That is extremly low, if you do the math it is 6,7% chance him spawning, and it is only when it's daytime that he will appear.

A whole night takes 7 minutes while dawn and and dusk take 1,5 minuts. If a travelling merchant does not spawn, then it will take 10 minutes for the server to get a chance to spawn a new one.
The player cannot switch between servers constaly until finding a travelling merchant because the "A travelling merchant has appeared" only shows up when the day starts.

When a player is lucky enough to come by a travelling merchant the prices will be ridicolous, what I mean by that is that if he were to appear in Olux the legendaries would cost between 3-5 LE.

    black text please :/

I think this would be an interesting idea, since it wouldn't be overpowered, would allow for players to find more items, and would not contradict the merchant plugin, unlike the other thread. I would support this. But what would the radius on the message saying "A Travelling Merchant has appeared in [Place]!" be?

Rycar has already been confirmed to be rarely sighted traveling around Gavel, but he should be made a merchant.

When the messeage appears everyone on that server will be notified, the Travelling Merchant will also be located in about the center of the town/village.

Sorry for the late reply :/

So you're in Rodoroc, and suddenly they tell you that a merchant has appeared in Nessak? That'll be quite a sprint.

So basically like that nomad guy in A Dark Room? Kinda? No?

Ah, whatever. I think this is a pretty cool idea! I don't think they should sell Legendaries, though. Definitely Rares and Uniques.

Maybe even have some items you can only buy from the Travelling Merchant?

They sell legendaries so thoose people who have done a ton of grinding but had no luck to get one themself can buy one.
However, as I said the legendaries would be over priced. I could imagine that a bow like Infinity could cost all the way up to 6 LE.(very few people around lvl 55 has 6 LE...)

Some items that you only can buy from the Travelling Merchants would definetly add a cool touch to them.
