World {quest} Falling Shadows- Level 86 [p. 4/5] (40+ Supporters)

Part 5 is a long time coming, since I'm going to be putting as much energy as I can into my GM app now that they're accepting again, but I have a very unorthodox idea for this questline's final part.

Find Addalis. He was pointed out before in the end of Tombs of the Fallen.
He's a librarian villager who lives in this house at Cinfras.
Before the level minimum, or without the Rolled Scroll item, speaking to the man will yield this message:

Addalis: Who- who are you? G- Get out of here! I don't, er... I don't want your filthy boots on my doorstep!
You look down. Your boots are cleaned of mud.
Addalis: Well, come on! S- scram!

At the correct level, with the scroll:

[1/9] Addalis: Huh? Aahhh! Who are you!
[2/9] Addalis: Elsas? Awww, no.
The man bolts for the door, but you catch him by the shoulder. Your strong grip makes him stumble.
[3/9] Addalis: Crud...
He attempts to punch you. You easily dodge the feeble blow.
[4/9] Addalis: I don't care how many emeralds you give me! Just let go!
[5/9] Addalis: *sigh* Fine. I guess it was pointless anyways.
He flops onto a nearby chair, suddenly confident.
[6/9] Addalis: You're probably wondering who I am. Heh heh. You're probably wondering who we all are, aint'ya?
[7/9] Addalis: Well, I'll tell you. But... ya know...
[8/9] Addalis: Now that you got me stuck here, I do care about how many emeralds you give me. The call of profit, hey?
[9/9] Addalis: I suppose [1 Liquefied Emerald] will do. Don'tcha worry, I'm not going anywhere.

Now, some of you might argue. But hey, you're level 86. You can afford that... I hope.

[1/8] Addalis: Heh. Thanks, kid.
[2/8] Addalis: Actually, you aren't really a kid anymore, huh?
[3/8] Addalis: Hmm. Well, anyway, I'll say this quick and straight.
[4/8] Addalis: Me, Elsas, Erika, Thono, Vasco, Tamar, Gonzalo, and a lot of others you ain't met...
[5/8] Addalis: We're part of an organization. An elite force, consisting of the best heroes of Wynn, Gavel, and other provinces. We even got someone from Dern. The Order of Venturers.
[6/8] Addalis: It's a cross-province organization dedicated to holding off evil- Corruption, Decay, you name it.
[7/8] Addalis: And thanks to your help, we've discovered our biggest enemy yet.
He holds up the letter to the lamplight.
[8/8] Addalis: It looks legit. Head to Olux and find a guy named Faelin. He's an elf and our expert on codes. Because this message is sure to be in one.

Order of Venturers- what a dorky name.

Faelin lives here and has an elf skin. The house will be improvised to have a sign saying "Faelin's Ancient Language Translation Services".
Before Quest:
Faelin: Hello human. Do you need something translated?
Faelin: No? Until we meet again, then.

During Quest:
[1/5] Faelin: Hello, human. I assume someone sent you.
[2/5] Faelin: Who was it? Hummel? Kadinn? Vasco?
[3/5] Faelin: Ahh. Addalis. So what buisness do you have here? You want me to decode something, I assume?
[4/5] Faelin: Hmm. From Elsas, I see. Thar-rin Odera Tar'anis...
[5/5] Faelin: Head to Carinas Observatory in the Canyon of the Lost and find a man named Antares. I've heard of the place, and written it's location in your book. Quickly! Go!

(In case you didn't notice, his name is the same as the star, which is a bit larger than the orbit of Mars around the sun. The more you know.)

The observatory is atop one of the larger mountains in the Canyon. It's a quartz tower with a large hole in the roof. There is a path going up to it. There are no scientist or guard NPCs.

If you enter before the quest, it'll push you back, saying You have a sense of foreboding about this place...
When you enter with the quest, it allows you in.
The first room is just an empty lobby. The second is the main room. Entering, you receive a message:
The observatory clearly has not been used in a while. Whatever device was used to observe the heavens is now gone.
And indeed, there is an empty platform there. But there is an NPC standing on it.

[1/5] Antares: Oh, hey there!
[2/5] Antares: I'm Antares, the head operator of the observatory.
You find it strange that there is a 'head operator' of such a clearly abandoned building.
[3/5] Antares: Something stole our telescope a while back- All I saw was a dark shape disappearing into that passage to the left.
[4/5] Antares: Could you check it out for me?
[5/5] Antares: I really need that telescope!

When you go in, you're teleported to a pit.
NOTE: When trying to enter the passage after the quest it will push you back and say It's a normal hallway now...
This is for a purpose revealed in Part 5.

[1/8] ???: HA HA HA.
[2/8] ???: I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW UTTERLY FOOLISH YOU ARE.
[3/8] ???: NOW THAT YOU'RE NEVER RETURNING, I MAY AS WELL TELL YOU WHO I AM. I AM... WELL, YOUR FRIEND ELSAS, SAID I WAS ATTEMPTING TO BRING CORRUPTION TO GAVEL.
[4/8] ???: HE WAS WRONG. I AM EVIL IN ALL FORMS.
[5/8] ???: I- WHAT? NO! I DO NOT FEAR HIM.
[6/8] ???: I AM MARISIO! LORD OF EVIL.
[7/8] Marisio: AND YOU, INSOLENT MORTAL, SHALL STAY HERE FOREVER!
[8/8] Essen: Don't worry, adventurer! I'll get you out. Just follow the tunnel!

And indeed, there is a tunnel ahead.

It's just a long tunnel.
Well, a long tunnel with enemies.

Note: I have no idea of the average values of any mob above 75. If a GM could let me know what these values are that would be great.

When you reach the end, you see a stairway going up. The Essen NPC is at the foot.

[2/5] Essen: Not much more time before... Well, Marisio headed off down a tunnel. It headed west... Towards Thanos.
As you start to walk up the stairs, Essen grabs your shoulder.
[3/5] Essen: Hey, er...
[4/5] Essen: Aw man, I don't know how to say this, but...
[5/5] Essen: *sigh* You beat that guy, okay? And if you do... Look for a piece of paper. It should be in a small notebook. Don't open it, and just take it to Kiaren at Gelibord. Some things should stay hidden.

When you walk up the stairs, you're teleported to Thanos' market. Or at least, a double of it. With Marisio. He has a player sprite- Yep. No hiding behind possessed people or a nametag in the dark. He has a skin. I'll make a separate post with his skin later.

The moment you walk towards Marisio, all time freezes...
[1/8] Marisio: WELL. I MUST ADMIT I WAS NOT EXPECTING YOU TO GET OUT OF THAT.
[2/8] Marisio: BUT NO MATTER. I SHALL DESTROY YOU RIGHT HERE AND RIGHT NOW.
[3/8] Vasco: Stop!
[4/8] Marisio: WHO DARES INTERRUPT?

Marisio: I'll... I...

Did I mention that the new NPC is a quest NPC?
His name is Vasco. Yup.
Before the quest, he'll say:
Vasco: Well! Fancy meeting you again!
Talking to him in the quest, however, yields a completely different message:

[3/9] Elsas: Uh, Vasco? You all right?
[4/9] Vasco: Never thought I'd see him again.
[5/9] Faelin: Vasco...
[6/9] Vasco: There were three of us. Three.
[7/9] Vasco: Vasco, Gonzalo, and...
[8/9] Vasco: And...
[9/9] Vasco: Marisio.

And I'm not sure if you remembered this, but Essen said to bring the Folded Scroll to Tarn...

This is, by no means, the last quest in the Epitaph Series. I said it had 5 parts, right?

To be honest, this quest series is getting repetitive. I don't really feel like this one holds enough weight to have a boss... I won't deny it is well made, but it feels a bit empty.

 

Seems alright from a tl;dr glance. Liquified* Emerald, though. Yes, I know it should be "Liquefied," but the game spells it "Liquified."

 

And that is exactly why I don't think this was a very good quest.

A great quest, but at the end of part 3 (Tombs of the Fallen), it said that this would be a level 88 quest. It said to reach Cinfras at level 88 and start the quest. Just thought I'd let you know! :)
