World Travelling Merchants!

    This is just an idea I came up with so..

    it might cause lag idk
    Travelling Merchants
    The basic idea of this is the player has a chance of encountering a travelling merchant in the wilderness. They are a villager named "Travelling Merchant". They will wander at will and will walk anywhere until the player that they are helping walks out of a 150 block range. The travelling merchants have a 1/1000 chance of spawning for every 10 blocks the player walks. That is a 1/10000 chance for 1 block.

    The reason these are extremely rare is because they can have amazing items. Depending on the location they are spawned, they will have very good items for the level of that town. (e.g. Llevigar will have level 40 stuff) The items are extremely strong and may have high elemental damage.

    So what if someone steals the merchant?
    You CANNOT select the merchant if you are not the one it was spawned for. it will display this message:

    The travelling merchant doesn't want to trade right now.

    If you are the one it was spawned for, it will say this:

    Travelling Merchant: Hello, %player%! What would you like to buy today?

    A Villager GUI will pop up containing the items.

    Items in Ragni might cost emeralds or very few emerald blocks (But low level stuff)
    Detlas will cost EB (With L10-15 in mind)
    Nemract merchants will do EB (L20-30 in mind)
    Nesaak area will cost EB and maybe some LE (Levels 40-49 in mind)
    Troms and Jungle will use LE (Levels 50-60)
    Llevigar will use LE (Levels 40-60)
    The rest of the towns will use LE for their levels.

    If you're in the wilderness, the nearest town's merchant rules apply.

    I know that this might cause lag, but I hope it doesn't.

    (The look on the villager is a merchant with a backpack)

    can a gm/builder come and yell at me if I am wrong, but as fa as I know the way trading npc's work is that there is a chest under them that contains their possible trades, to have a merchant moving you will have to keep the chest moving under him as well.

    So we could have them stand still, maybe?

    Or possibly separate travelling merchants from regular merchants...?

    In order for this to work, we would have to make merchants similar to mobs, which would also make them use a chest somewhere (which would not be under them).
    I do not think this is really possible, but don't take my word for it!

    How about "Event Merchants" who teleports to a Random city ( i guess this should work with the chest .-. (idk) )
