((Note that due to issues with MCEdit not supporting multiple colors on lines of lore, the lore had to be written in the thread itself, so some text may be white. For light theme users I recommend switching to dark in order to properly view this thread.))

With the release of the Gavel expansion and encouragement of teamwork throughout the community in order to take down the new challenges it brings, many are left without a fighting chance because they don't have the time resources or other to plan out a raid. This had me thinking about possible ways players could still participate in raids, but without having to waste shouts or create a forum account then wait around for people to show up. I began to devise a system that could fix this issue, and after some refining have decided to share with the forums.

My idea was to change the entire way entering a dungeon works, so instead of talk to the NPC with a key and run in, talking to the NPC would take you to a menu from which you would be allowed to select three different raid types

    Diamond Sword:
    Quick Queue
Join 3 other players in a randomly matched party.
    Gold Sword:
    Party Raid
Queue your current party for a raid.
    [Party leader only]
    Wooden Sword:
    Solo Raid
Take on the dungeon by yourself.
    [NOT RECOMMENDED]
    Red Checkmark:
    Exit menu
Exit this menu and refund your key.

    First option: Quick Queue
The Quick Queue system is a random matching system, which puts you in a queue with players from across every server to join a 4 player party. This party would be automatically left if you go further than 150 blocks away from the dungeon, and would automatically throw all the players in the party into the dungeon after 5 minutes (The timer would start when 2 or more players have joined). Upon joining the queue, you would receive a message in chat saying "You have successfully joined a quick queue. Talk to the NPC to view your team mates." Talking to the NPC would do just that, and bring you to a menu like this

    Player Skull:
    Username
    Class: Class
    Level: ##
    Weapon: Weapon
    Rank: Rank
    Red Checkmark:
    Exit queue
Exit this queue and refund your key.

In addition to a fancy menu, players waiting would gain access to the /queue and /q commands. /q would work much like /p, allowing players to talk to each other before the raid. /queue on the other hand would allow for a few different options, similar to what you can do in the queue menu.

    /queue ready
Automatically marks the player as ready, when all players are ready the dungeon automatically starts. If only a few players ready up, then the time is reduced by that percentage (ex. 1 player readies in a 4 player party, reduces the current wait time by 25%)
    /queue check (playername)
Checks the stats of a player, shown exactly the same as above but in chat instead.
    /queue leave
    Leave the queue.

Upon every player selecting the ready option or the timer running out, all players will be teleported to the server of the first player to join the queue, and join that server's dungeon. If the first player's is currently being run, it will move on to the second, third, etc. If every player's dungeon on their server is being run, then they would be teleported to a special dungeon server, which houses 4-5 of each dungeon per server. (Note that the reason I don't just use the dungeon servers is to make it less of a hassle for the poor devs to get so many servers up).

    Second option: Party Raid
The Party Raid system puts all players that are eligible to start in a queue to join the raid, there would obviously be multiple requirements for each player in the party to be a part of the raid, as to avoid getting in for free, teleporting across the map by doing a dungeon that's far away etc. Party raids would automatically be put into the dungeon servers.

    Options for the party leader:
Upon clicking the "party raid" option as a leader, you would be brought to a menu confirming that you would like to start a party raid.

    Green Checkmark:
    Confirm
Yes, I would like to begin a party raid of this dungeon.
    Red Checkmark:
    Deny
No, I would not like to begin a party raid of this dungeon.

((This is only because it's just above the "exit menu" button.))

    Options for party members:
If a party member clicks the party raid option and a raid is not yet planned, they will receive a message in chat saying "Your party leader has not started a party raid, request that they start one if you'd like to enter." When a party leader starts a raid, all members will receive another message saying "Your party leader has chosen to begin a raid at Example Dungeon! Head there with a key and select "Party Raid" to join." Just like the Quick Queue system, going 150 blocks or more away from the dungeon would cause you to automatically leave the raid (But not your party, key would also be refunded). Typing /party leave leaves the raid.

    Third Option: Solo Raid
I don't see why this needs very much explaining, but there's a few details that must be shown anyways. Solo Raids would be put into their server's dungeon, and would start as soon as you selected yes. If your server's dungeon is unavailable, go to the dungeon servers. Upon selecting solo raid you are brought to a menu confirming whether you want to start a solo raid or not.

    Green Checkmark:
    Confirm
Yes, I would like to begin a solo raid of this dungeon.
    Red Checkmark:
    Deny
No, I would not like to begin a solo raid of this dungeon.

    Obvious Q&A stuff

What if I die while waiting for a raid to start?
You can't. Waiting will put you in a "duel" like state where you can't hurt mobs but they can't hurt you either.

What about attempting to trade or duel while waiting?
Again, you can't. Same goes for attempting to use merchants (if you can even reach one).

What if I open the menu while in a party raid?
It would bring you to the same menu you saw at the start. The red check would take you out of the raid and refund your key (but not out of the party), and the Quick Queue/Solo options would put you into those raids and take you out of your party raid (and your party, if you're to switch servers).

What if all the dungeons on every server are full?
Your party will be put into a line, and would automatically join the next open dungeon.

What if I die in a dungeon?
You will be teleported back to outside of the dungeon in the server the raid takes place on, and be removed from your queue if you're in Quick Queue. If you're on a dungeon server, you will be sent to the lobby and spawn in the nearest town.

What if I have multiple weapons in my hotbar?
Your weapon (I think) is determined by the first in your hotbar. You can see which weapon the game thinks you use by clicking your compass and mousing over the sword.

What are we supposed to do while we wait if we can't travel?
I dunno, I guess just talk in chat, browse the forums or whatever else you wanna do.

Well that's about all, thanks for reading! If I missed something or you have a suggestion, be sure to post it below.

It's totally awesome! But I have one question about Queue - what if I have 3 or 4 weapons in my Invertory?

Should've thought that'd be a question, well your weapon (from how I see it) is determined by the first in your hotbar, you can see which weapon the game thinks you use by going to your compass menu and mousing over the sword

This is really nice. It'll certainly streamline the party-making process so you don't have to wait for replies on a thread or waste shouts.

Liked it a lot!Pretty good suggestion btw :s but i think would be great to have the standart party system, but u can bring ur partners to a dungeon with u with a single key, and when u interact with the key collector will be a menu that u can choose to go alone or bring your mates with u, i liked ur suggestion, but here's what i think ^^

The party system was supposed to prevent people getting in for free but also allow the player to join the dungeon with their friends, so it's the same system you suggested just it costs for other players to avoid being OP
That'll happen in any game, and could happen in any raid that you could plan currently, another MMO I used to play had a system fairly similar and I never encountered randoms who AFK
