How Much Are White Horses Really Worth?

We all know white horses are expensive. But just how expensive are they? I want to find out!

First, a little data:
Tier 1 horses cost a flat 24EB
When breeding you have a 20% chance to get a horse 1 tier higher, a 50% chance to get the same tier, and a 30% chance to get 1 tier less (or just a tier 1 if breeding tier 1's)

So lets assume we buy 1000 T1 (375LE) horses and breed them together. We'll get 500 horses and roughly 100 of them will be tier 2, and the other 400 will still be tier 1's. We can then breed the other 400 and get 200 horses back, this time we get about another 40 T2's and another 160 T1's. You know what that means, we do another 80 breedings to get 16 T2's and 64 T1's. 32 more breedings gives about 6 more T2's and 24 T1's. 12 breedings for 2 more T2's. 5 for 1 more, and the last 4 are most likely not going to get us any more T2's, but let's add 1 more T2 to make up for the rounding on the last few go's...

So from 1000 T1's we can expect roughly 166 T2's... These 166 still cost 375 LE for roughly 2.25 LE each, but we're not even close to done...


The next step is a little trickier, since now we have a 30% fail rate... let's again assume we have 1000 T2's, which we now know are collectively worth 2250 LE. We can expect 100 T3's, 250 T2's, and 150 T1's... since 16.6% of the T1's can be turned back in to T2's, this gives us another 25 back. We'll then get another roughly 38 T3's going through the cycle a few more times...

This means out of the 1000 T2's we started with, we only got 138 out of it as T3's. Still being collectively worth 2250 LE, they now come out to 16.3 LE each, about 7.25 times as much as a T2.

Although it's not quite accurate, for the sake of simplicity we can apply the same reasoning as the previous section to the final one for getting T4's. It's actually just slightly lower since the failed T2's can fail AGAIN into T1's... but I don't want to work all that out, so I think a fair guess is that T4's are 7.35 times as valuable as T3's...

This would make a T4 worth... drum-roll please... nearly 120 LE! If you can get your hands on a white horse for less that 120, consider it a bargain!

If you've learned anything today it should be this... Horse. Breeding. Sucks.

just look at a reasonable price by looking at trade market threads buying/selling white horses so simple

This is finding out what the actual price of a white horse should be.

Doesn't matter if people go through the effort or not to breed a white horse. Still just math showing how much it would most likely cost.

And to change your forum name go to your profile settings (Personal Details) Scroll down to a orange tab that says "Advanced options" and right under that should be "Change Username" click on that. Then change your name, but be warned you cant change it again for 90 days.

 

Breeding for chestnuts is quite profitable, while breeding for white is quite insane

 

I'm going to refer you to two threads that went through this, in depth, for reference. The first thread was made by @Yuno F Gasai, looking at the current cost of horse breeding with the existent brown horse sales NPC. On average, Black horses cost 2LE 16Eb, Chestnut horses cost 16LE 20Eb, and White horses cost 118LE 62Eb. The second thread is mine, where I looked at the cost of horse breeding when we still had a Black horse merchant. So, without rounding the numbers as you did, your calculations are correct, and you got the same conclusions that we did.

To various posters who don't like the math: without the math, there is no answer to the question of "how much".

 

Actually the price is the same for all of the threads.

It's not the estimated price, its the average breeding price.

140le as far as I can remember, I know the prices have been rising for some time now.

 

I've seen white horses being sold for 1le, 2 le, etc

 

Well I think since the update, some people don't have much mana and for those who wanna get around quicker they would prob want a white horse because the speed at 40/40 (without horse lag) is really fast. So more people are wanting them now meaning prices are going up. This is just what I think tho.

 

Don't forget that Gavel quests give a lot more emeralds than the wynn ones (most 65-70+ quests give 1 LE minimum) so emeralds have experienced inflation and aren't worth as much as before, so most items will now sell for more.
