A cool mini-game to add to Wynncraft.
The idea is that the player talks to a villager to start a sort of a quest, when the player accepts the quest he will be teleported to a location where he will have to survive as long as he can. If you're in a party, then when the party leader accepts the quest then rest of the party members will be asked if they want to follow their party leader. Because you obviously have a big advantage as a group against waves of enemies.

Let me give you an example. There will be an NPC in Detlas, when you talk to him this dialouge will show:

If the player is below lvl 20 then this will show:
Sorry but I do not think that you are capable enough to handle this job, come back when you're lvl 20!

1: Hello adventure! I'll keep it short.
2: Our scouts have located a huge horde of monsters that'll be here by night!
3: We need as many men as possible to help us clear theese monsters out, if you're looking for a job you can accept this quest and slay as many monsters as you can.
4: Your reward will be that you can keep all the loot that you get from the monsters.. I've heard the stronger ones has some pretty good stuff.....
5: Will you accept this quest? [YES] - [NO]

If the player presses "[YES]" he will be teleported to a map that is an exact copy of Detlas, except that it is permanent night. There will also be placed barrier blocks above all objects that the player can stand on to avoid getting hit by Zombies/Skeletons/Spiders ect...

There will be 10 waves. for each wave, the monster's drop chance of dropping something good will increase.
If the player dies or completes all the waves he will simply spawn in the normal Detlas again.

The item drops will range between lvl 12 items - lvl 30 items.

Ofcourse, there is also a catch. You can only play one of theese "survival wave" games once a day. This means that if there are multiple survival games around the map, then you will have to choose one, after you have played that one you cannot play any other until the next day.

This is to prevent something such as a lvl 100 player going to Detlas to spam the survival wave game just to get emeralds.

So um, tell me what you think.

You might say "this will make the server more laggy!!".
Ofcourse it will make the server more laggy, every single update that adds more content makes the server more laggy.

Sounds kinda like old swarms and guild wars mashed together.
    It's alright, I guess.

Sounds like swarms. And those were really laggy. Trust me, this would make it so incredibly laggy. I know what you said at the end, but they tended to get so laggy the server had to restart. Yeah.

This is very similar to an old feature called "swarms" where each town would have a random chance for a swarm of mobs to arrive. There would be a notification on the server when the event was about to happen and all the players would team up to fend off the horde. Swarms were ultimately removed due to their lag. But if they ever do return, perhaps they could work a little bit more like your suggestion. The "opt-in" function would definitely be very handy.

There would never be as many monsters at once as there would be in swarms.
The monsters come in waves, but instead of just increasing the number of the monsters for each wave it is the power level of the monsters that gets increased.
This would make it much less laggy.
