Dear Salted, Minecraft 1.9... (174 Votes!)

I wanted to write this thread to get the attention of salted so u could have his opinion on wether or not he believed that mine craft 1.9 would be an improvement to how wynncraft would be played or just more of a hassle and make it harder to run wynncraft. What do you think?

Do you think minecraft 1.9 will improve wynncraft,or make it a bad experience, OR it has both positives and negatives?

Other fellow wynncraftians feel free to answer the poll as well!

 

2 things.

1, it ain't even fully 1.8 yet (it might have turned 1.8 with gavel, but idk). Don't even think about 1.9

2, you are not aloud to tag Grian, Salted, or Jumla in your threads just so they can look at the thread... I believe this goes for all admins as wel...

So yeah, not only is this thread stupid, but it breaks forum rules. Please take it down...

 

As you may not know, (/sarcasm) Wynncraft is a MMORPG server in minecraft.

So, the addition of the fully customisable attack speed, and such will benefit wynncraft, as they would have way less lines of code to make an item.
PLUS the addition of the infinite texture based on durability will allow wynncraft to add way more new weapons without any limites other than lag.

The elytra will allow the addition of some classes using them (maybe) such as Demon Hunter class, angel class, etc. And maybe some more travelling possibilities.

1.9 will only benefit wynncraft because the combat mechanics are now fully customisable and this is a good thing for MMORPG.

Also, I may write a new thread about a new class using the elytra as I am very inspired by Elytra.

And for those that have choose the second option, please inform yourself, 1.9 will just bring less lag as they will make coding way more easier and less laggy.

And since when wynncraft was a fully vanilla pvp server ? So, why are you all even crying about something that will benefit wynncraft ?

I may sound rude, but I am just stating my opinion.

 

Basics of 1.9:

Attack speed on item (can be configed with commands)

Loot tables (config mob drops and chests)

Lingering potions (high doubt that would be used in wynncraft)

Ender Revamp (new blocks for building, dragon is not used in wynncraft so that does not matter)

Shulkers (mobs that don't move, but shoot you and make you float)

Elytra (wings used for gliding)

New enchants (mending not useful for Wynn, frost walker could be used to travel the ocean with ease)

Potion arrows (for archer)

Shields (for warrior)

Off hand (could be used so you have special charms that only work when in offhand)

Mobs have harder AI

Luck and unlucky potion effects (used with loot tables. Could make IDs or potions for those)

Hay bale lowers fall damage



Yeah that's the basics. I also put how they could be used in Wynn. There are of corse more advanced staff, but this is the pure basics.

He means that he has some hopeful ideas & plans as long as Minecraft is capable of it. Although creativity is limitless, Minecraft isn't unfortunately.

I believe its fully 1.8 now, for 3 weeks, ever since Gavel is out.

 

#1, Wynncraft is fully 1.8.9

#2, That's only for the General Suggestions forums, but it is a non-written rule to not tag admins elsewhere too. ok:D

Why isn't that posted at the top of General Suggestions ._. That would have cleared up SOOOOO MANY THREADS asking for middle click spells.

I believe that, if some of the negative stuff, like the limited attack speed, can be either put to use or disabled/manipulated, 1.9 will be mostly positive for Wynn, however some stuff will not.
Somebody mentioned the Elytra, but it's, well, not a good idea for Wynn. I've seen a lot of people say that it'd be great in Wynn, but the only thing it could be used for is puzzles, and in a limited fashion. Anything else, like a class with it, would be broken.
Other stuff in 1.9 could be useful, however I don't think anybody should expect Wynn to start using 1.9 for a long time.

One thing I think Wynn would benefit from is the second hand, as long as it's limited to Shields and Potions, or something like that.

 

I've messed around with the Second Hand feature quite a bit in 1.9, especially with item detection. With the easier to code command blocks, we may be able to see activateable items in Wynn by simply putting them in our off-hand. I've messed around with this feature quite a bit, and making items provide, say, a buff when held in the off hand is quite easy. Just an idea, but I can see the use of the off hand being quite useful in Wynncraft, not only for it's right-clicking abilities.

The attack speeds, however, I'm not so sure about...
Wynncrafts Attack Speed: You can only attack at a certain speed, and cannot use your attack whilst the item is "Recharging".

1.9's Attack Speed: You can only do full damage when a weapon is "charged", but you can still spam it do deal knockback and little damage. Haste decreases Recharge, and Mining Fatigue the opposite.


Things might clash here...
