World Transportation Ideas[8 Supporters]

So basically, there are two forms of known easy transportation currently in Wynncraft, boats, and airships. But, boats would be stupid to use, and all around useless.

Let's start off with the general beginning part that makes this form of transportation better than a normal tp scroll. Ok, for starters, it doesn't use soul points, instant win right there, also, a generally neat idea on how to save you money too.

Ok so let's get started with the passport, this would be a book, that is untradeable and can be obtained in one way, a merchant at the Cinfras airport. This is required to even board a flight to anywhere, and costs 10 EBs.

These are the airports and where you can go to from there:

-Cinfras: Ahmsord, Kandon-Beda, Detlas(free), Eltom

-Ahmsord: Kandon-Beda, Cinfras

-Kandon-Beda: Ahmsord, Cinfras

-Eltom: Cinfras

-Detlas: Cinfras

Those are the current cities where there are airships visible and where an airport could be added.

There is one location where tickets can be bought, Cinfras.

They go for the normal cost of scrolls, except have level requirements for cities, which is the level of the city. Except, remember the passport? This is where it comes in, your passport has 10 levels, you level up your passport by buying tickets and going places. Each level allows you to save money on tickets. In this order:

-Level 1: 5% less

-Level 2: 10% less

-Level 3: 15% less

And so on until you are level 10, which would be half off. Here's exactly how the system works. So you and your book, go to the merchant, which like the questbook, uses the book to know what to do. It them opens the menu according to what the book says. Then after this, you go to the ship which in Cinfras is the large ship, you can still use the small one and go right to Detlas. After this you would go onto the bed, and then you would fall asleep, then you would be tped into a black room, like the spawn one(to imitate a sleep). After this happens, you would be asked to choose from a merchant list. With city names and blocks to represent the cities. After this you would be teleported to the airport.

You may be saying, this seems like an attempt to save money, that is where you are wrong, for starters, it's to select locations, and already requires you to be in cities.

You may also say you could just use tp scrolls, maybe so, but some of us don't want to lost soul points to warp around.


Basically, I have some future ideas to spread the awesomeness that is airships all around, all it takes is an airport boarding sort of area in every major city.


Now that you've read this idea, your probably thinking, "man this idea sucks" so clearly if that's what's going through everyone's heads it should be added.

I feel like the only person who keeps 2 detlas scrolls and 2 Llevigar scrolls in my inv ;)

 

Why should it only be Gavel? I don't find it any harder to traverse than Wynn.

Wynn doesn't currently have airports, if they were built I'd add them in.

Yes, I have 58 Detlas tp scrolls and can take airships to Cinfras, but I don't like losing the soul points.

I still don't understand the problem with scrolls. I have one scroll for every city I've visited in my bank. When I need one, I go to the nearest city and head wherever I want. Not a problem.

 

The idea is for another unique way to get around.

 

New ways to fast travel would be convenient and it would help with my 16ish scrolls I have in my bank. I feel like those places with airship docks will eventually get some way to fast travel between them, and if they don't then that would suck. Another thing that I heard about was a boat from Nemrekt to Llevigar, because boats are horrible when there is any bit of lag.

 

Let me guess: we have to do a quest to gain fast travel for the boat just like Flight in Distress.

 

It was just something I heard from a community member that I would enjoy to see.

 

My general idea to this is that airports would be built in almost every city, giving fast transportation all around the provinces. I was thinking more of a map, Detlas to anywhere in the Wynn province and Cinfras, Cinfras to anywhere in the Gavel province and Detlas. I personally think that if the content team was going to do something with the boats, they would've done it by now.

I've asked other members of the content team about something in this general area before making this thread. They don't know yet if there will be more with airships.

I'd recommend not getting your hopes up. Although it's an idea, not all ideas get to see the light of day.

 

I'm not really sure we need an alternate fast-travel. The scrolls exist as they do for a reason.

 

Most ideas don't get to see the light of day, so the chances are about the same.

I am sure you peeked at that other thread about airships. I like airships just as much as you do. I even did the quests for them, which makes me sad to announce that Grian stated a "no". I am one of the people who really wanted it, but we were rejected. Airships are really cool, and using them to do all sorts of travel would be amazing. But, that day simply will not come, sadly.
