To briefly sum up this thread: When a player has either 15, 30, 50, 75 or 100 Skill Points in one skill point category, they will unlock special perks related to its type and element (for example, 15 Agility gives 5% Movement Speed and Air Damage).

Skill Points, at the current time, have been woven into the new Elements system. Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Defence and Agility all are related to one of the 5 Elements currently in Wynncraft; and will increase a player's elemental damage by a percentage amount depending on how many skill points they have in that category. My suggestion here is to also add special 'Perks' related to the Skill and Element after a certain amount of points have been invested in it.

There would be 5 available perks for each skill, and these would be unlocked when a player invests 15, 30, 50, 75 or 100 Skill Points into a skill point category. Each perk would relate to the Element and Skill, making users of a single element much more powerful, and those with two or more elements slightly more buffed as they progress. These bonuses would stack, so investing 30 points into Thunder would give the effects of 15 points as well as 30, for a total of 10% thunder damage and 5% movement speed. Perks cannot be unlocked by identifications on armour or weapons giving points (e.g. Blue Mask), only the raw points (the ones gained from leveling up) would count towards the perks being unlocked.

Upon unlocking a perk, the player would be notified with a message in chat (A bit like levelling up a spell) describing what they have unlocked. For example:
    ---------------------------------------------------------
    Skill Perk Unlocked!
    Fire:
You feel more in tune with the Fire element...
    Perk Unlocked (15 Points):
Warmth: You feel a little warmer, +5% Fire Damage.
    ---------------------------------------------------------

They would also have a particle effect around them for a short moment depending on the element the skill relates to.

    explode:
    2016-02-24_09.23.10.png
    Note:
There would be much less particles in-game than shown in the above pictures. These were created to showcase the effects to use, and a repeating command block was used to constantly play the effect to show off the particles (as they fade too fast for me to activate and then take a good screenshot).

    ✤ Earth / Strength:
15 Points: Stone Muscles: Your muscles become hard as stone, +5% Melee Damage, +5% Earth Damage.
30 Points: Earthen Wisdom: You're more adept with the Earth element, +5% Earth Damage.
50 Points: Spiked Skin: You learn a few tricks from the earth, +10% Thorns.
75 Points: Power Swing: You're now a powerful earthen warrior, +5% Melee Damage, +5% Earth Damage.
100 Points: Master of Earth: You know everything there is about the Earth Element, +10% Melee Damage, +10% Earth Damage, +15% Thorns, +210/3s Poison.
Mastery Perk: Skullsmasher. Your attacks have a chance to temporarily stun enemies, which increases based on attack speed. Super Fast to Normal have a 5% chance, while Slow, Very Slow and Super Slow have a 10%, 15% and 20% chance (has a 3s cooldown). The Earth Powder weapon special will always stun enemies, regardless of cooldown. Taking fall damage will deal 50% of the damage to enemies within 6 blocks of you.

    ✦ Thunder / Dexterity:
15 Points: Electricity: The air around you feels electric, +5% Thunder Damage.
30 Points: Lighting Speed: You've learned the ways of Thunder, +5% Thunder Damage, +5% Movement Speed.
50 Points: Thunder Storm: You're much stronger with Thunder, +5% Thunder Damage.
75 Points: Speed Demon: You become much faster on your feet, +5% Movement Speed.
    100 Points:
Master of Thunder: You know everything there is about the Thunder Element, +10% Thunder Damage, +10% Double Damage Chance, +10% Movement Speed, +1 Tier Attack Speed.
Mastery Perk: Instability. When attacking enemies, there is a 10% chance you'll send out bolts of lightning, striking up to 3 nearby enemies within 6 blocks for 100% damage (has a 5 second cooldown). Crits have a 5% chance to do triple damage instead of double damage.

    ❉ Water / Intelligence:
15 Points: Magical Novice: You've begun to recognise how magic works, +5% Water Damage.
30 Points: Spell Mastery: You learn a lot more about magic, +10% Spell Damage.
50 Points: Hydrogen and Oxygen: You're more experienced with Water, +5% Water Damage, +5% Spell Damage.
75 Points: Tsunami: You're now a powerful water spellcaster, +5% Spell Damage, +5% Water Damage, +5% Reflection.
100 Points: Master of Water: You know everything there is about the Water Element, +10% Water Damage, +10% Spell Damage, +2/4s Mana Regen, +20% Reflection.
Mastery Perk: Siren's Song. Water no longer slows you down, and you can no longer drown. Your mana regen is doubled while in water. Chaining spells now increases their damage by 10% (additively) each time.

    ✹ Fire / Defence:
15 Points: Warmth: You feel a little warmer, +5% Fire Damage.
30 Points: Evaporation: You're more experienced with fire, +5% Fire Damage +5% Health Regen.
50 Points: Nether's Lava: Your strength with fire grows, +5% Fire Damage, +10% Health.
75 Points: Fireball: You become faster when using fire, +5% Health Regen, +5% Fire Damage.
100 Points: Master of Fire: You know everything there is about the Fire Element, +10% Health Regen, +10% Fire Damage, +15% Health.
Mastery Perk: Netherborn. You are immune to (world) fire and lava damage. While on fire, you regenerate health 50% faster, and deal 50% fire damage to enemies within 6 blocks. Most fiery attacks now set you on fire (Such as Flamethrower) and fire damage has a 10% chance to set you on fire.

    ❋ Air / Agility:
15 Points: Light Footed: You feel a little lighter on your feet, +5% Movement Speed, +5% Air Damage.
30 Points: Air Strikes: You feel a little better with Air, +10% Air Damage.
50 Points: Whirlwind: You're as powerful as a whirlwind, +10% Movement Speed.
75 Points: Tornado: Your attacks with air are unstoppable, +10% Air Damage.
100 Points: Master of Air: You know everything there is about the Air Element,
+25% Air Damage, +15% Movement Speed, +5% Dodge Chance, +1 Tier Attack Speed.
Mastery Perk: Second Wind. You are immune to fall damage. When taking damage that would kill you, you will instead be put at 10% health and dodge all attacks for 1 second (has a 3 minute cooldown).

    Rainbow Perks:
Rainbow perks could be unlocked if a player has enough skill points in every skill. These wouldn't be as powerful as the singular skills, but would provide small buffs for players if they decide to invest their points across all their skills. These would not show up on the menu (described later), and would need to be found like a secret. If the player has unlocked the second tier perk in four or more skills, then they will not gain the benefits of the regular element perks anymore.

    Rainbow:
20 Points: Colourful: Pretty colours! +5% Damage (Every Element), +10 Defence (Every Element).
30 Points: Prismatic Illusion: You feel more in tune with every element, +10% Melee Damage, +10% Spell Damage.
40 Points: Raining Star: You know everything there is to know about every element? +10% Damage (Every Element), +20 Defence (Every Element), +15% Melee Damage, +15% Spell Damage.
Mastery Perk: Iridescent. Powder specials on weapons are now randomised each use. Neutral damage is now converted into a random element each hit.

The player could also check what perks they have in their compass menu. 'Soul Points' would appear below each skill, and clicking on one of these would take the player to a menu showing the perks they have unlocked. If the player has not unlocked the perk, they will see "??? - You haven't unlocked this perk yet!" instead of the perk. They could then exit the menu by clicking on the compass item that appears in the bottom of the menu.

    Cleaned up text.
Removed checking points until next perk.

    Edit 11:
Removed '-50% Fire Damage Taken (Natural Fire)' from Master of Fire*

    Edit 21:
Severely nerfed Rainbow's perk set. If the player has 30 points in 4 or more skill categories, they will no longer gain the perks of them, preventing overpowered rainbow builds with the second tier perks of all elements, extremely high defence in all elements and high damage in all elements. Tri-Element builds are still viable, however.

    Edit 28:
Added +5% Earth Damage to Stone Muscles.

    Edit 29:
Minor spelling/grammar corrections and rewording the particle effects section to be clearer. Made the bump note at the bottom of the thread more obvious.

+Neutral damage is now converted into a random element each hit.

    Edit 35:
    Water:
    - Chaining spells no longer increases their cost
+ Chaining spells now increases their damage by 10% (additively) each time.
    * i.e. Casting a spell three times in a row will increase the third cast's damage by 20%.

    Note:
If you don't see a timeline of "Bump"s by myself on this thread, and large gaps between post dates, it's because I delete my previous bump before bumping the thread again. This creates an easy to read stream of replies, instead of a pattern of two posts and a bump. People aren't necroposting, I've just deleted my reply.

Thunder/Dexterity makes it possible to create an overly powerful weapon in terms of speed.

With 100 points invested in dexterity, you gain +2 tier attack speed.
A chakram has a base attack speed of very fast (or at least mine does)
my chakram also has +2 tier attack speed in identifications.
Combined, you get an attack speed of very fast + 4, which is kinda overpowered, even more so if you have armor that increases the attack speed.

Each element tries to win you over at the start with good buff that are only temporary. Item bonuses wouldn't help to get these, only your own points.
It's a bit less OP than your example but still good to have.

Remember this is just a random idea I wrote on google doc, no garantee it will be done. It's just for fun.
