Change The Mana System

    So the gavel update just came out and I must say it's epic!
    I like all the new quests/music/weapons even the element system is super cool when you get used to it. Of course there are some bugs but they will get fixed soon. The only thing that really bothers me at the moment is the mana system. They wanted to make the game "harder" so they reduced mana regen ALOT. I played 8 hours today and I must say this doens't make the game harder at all. The only thing it does is making the game a bit boring. Don't understand me wrong I like it that they try to make it more of a challenge, but having to wait 15 seconds before you can even sprint again is just annoying. You also lose 1 mana per second when sprinting what makes travelling around the map a real pain (especially now with the horse lag).

    I suggest to change the mana system a bit so it's still important that you take care of your mana, but that you don't have to wait 20/25seconds to refill it. I was thinking of increasing the mana cost of every spell, but give you a really good mana regen instead. this means you can only cast 1-3 spell with 1 mana bar so you have to chose the right spells. You can't keep spamming them because otherwise your mana bar will never refill. What this changes is that your mana bar will be full again after 4-5 seconds so you don't have to stand still and wait all the time. this makes the game more dynamic and less "spam spam spam, wait wait wait, spam spam spam".

    Let me know what you think about the system right now and the possible change to it.

    I agree, if there's one thing I don't like in the update is the super slow health and mana regen.
    I haven't played too much with elements so I'm not sure how exactly they all work.

    The water element lowers the COST OF SPELLS. This doesn't increase your actual mana regen. the means that you still have to wait 20-25 seconds to let your whole mana bar refill. with 70 int you can use way more spells with your mana but you still have to stand still to let it regen :/ (I main mage btw and I tested it)

    If you find this an issue, spec intelligence and get mana regen armor.

    The change you find mana regen is kinda low (1/38) and like I said above intelligence doesn't increase mana regen :/

    You seem to have a beef with regen. If you have issues with that, naturally, speccing int allows you to use less mana for the same amount of spells.

    Also, statistically speaking (as you did), getting 38 items is easy, and getting regen should be garunteed.

    I also have a problem with Mana. But what I don't get is, why are the potions so expensive now? Liek I used to use Mana potions constantly but now I'd be spending all of my money on them. Also why are the mana potions lvl 40? I just started new so this makes it a pain as I have some on the new one for ma quest but can't even use them if I wanted to. So this needs to change

    From what I see, this suggestion would actually make to game more "spam spam spam wait wait wait spam spam spam", but it would just lower the wait time, which makes the spam option a lot more viable. Right now, the mana system discourages "spam spam spam" and makes your basic attack more important while you wait, as well as making mana potions more useful. I agree on the running part, the cost is a bit annoying when traveling.

    i was trying to travel in gavel , just from the swamp city to the city at the entrance (lev something ) and it took me around 20 minutes
    its such a pain with assassin ,imo they should make it so even if your mana is at 1 you can still sprint , mana should have something to do with the spells not with the ability to run ;-;

    I thought the update was about lowering the ability spam, so you have to think about what you are casting, but now you just spam abilities till your mana is empty and then you have to wait so long before it regens and when it regenerated, you just spam again, water element gives you the ability to spam more, but it doesnt really fix the super slow regeneration speed.

    What i also find irritating is the fact that you lose so much hunger when you sprint, that is just annoying. :/

    Yay I am not the only one with horse lag! But anyway, yes, it should be tweaked. The mana regen is WAY to slow. I think perhaps the Water element should also increase regen as well as lowing cost. That would fix it!

    yea it should be nice if it gives regen instead of lowering the cost. At the end you can cast the same amount of spells, but it makes the game more fun and less annoying.
