World New /friend System

The current friend system, although convenient, needs to be changed. Currently, you can add a friend without their consent, which, seems a tad bit stalker-ish. (By the way, I added Grian as a friend to test out my theory, and it actually told me when he was on the GM server. Once this actually happened, I unfriended him and went to post this thread.)

My proposition is to make the "/Friend" command send a request to the person, not automatically add them to your friends list. You could also view pending requests by a "/Friend Requests" command, or simply tie it into the current "/Friend" command.

Hope I presented this clearly and thoroughly as I can.

This might not be that bad, but like I've said to a lot of the past few suggestions, Gavel is being worked on right now and that is the first priority for the dev's. But not a bad idea

 

I have told many people this, and it really needs to be added

 

Since someone stalked me and some of my friends by adding me and follow me on every server, I think this should be added

 

I support this, it's really easy to add and reduces the amount of stalking. +1 supporter! ;)

 

Or maybe at least a thing saying:
_____ has added you to their friends list.
Don't want this person to have you on their list? Use /friendlist _____ to remove your name.

 

People add me as a friend just for xp bombs I throw, so from my point of view this is not a bad idea.

I'm on many friend lists since the legio days, at one time I was on the friend list of half of fuq.

 

I like this idea, maybe add this and a toggle if people can even add you whatsoever.

 

Here are man A and man B.
A wants to be friend with B.
B don't know who the xxxx is A.

A thinks B is his friend, but B doesn't thinks A is his friend.

I've made a thread like this before (9/7 #NeverForget) , around the time I bought VIP+. Everytime I walked into Detlas I'd have my chat spammed with "RandomGuy41 has added you as a friend!" just because I was VIP+.

Small chat ideas here:
Friend Request Receiver:
Request:
Alex would like to be your friend! Type "/friend accept" to become friends, or "/friend deny" to deny.
Acceptance:
You are now friends with Alex!
Denial:
You denied Alex's friend request.
Removal:
You are no longer friends with Alex.

An idea here for a command could be "/friend ignore". A player may use this command to ignore friend requests from a specific person.
You are now ignoring friend requests from Alex.
Friend Request Sender:
Sending:
You have sent a friend request to Steve.
Acceptance:
You are now friends with Steve!
Denial:
Steve has denied your friend request.
Removal:
Steve is no longer friends with you.
Ignored Request:
Steve is currently ignoring friend requests from you.

An idea to stop players from being spammed with friend requests is a cooldown, this would be 2 Minutes by default, and 10 Minutes if the friend request is denied.
You cannot send another friend request to Steve for another 2 Minutes. / 10 Minutes.
