Website & Forums Wynncraft App Suggestion

Lets make an awesome wynncraft app to add to everything on the forums already.

So let's get started.

App Cost: Free

App logo(or something similar):



This app, for starters, would be available in the Google play store, and App Store.

Home Screen of app:

This part of the app would be similar to the home page of the current app, but you wouldn't scroll down, you would open tabs to instantly get to the new features and current features.

Current Features(features on website):

-Forums
-Help Page

Yet would include these features I will get into:

-Interactive Improved Map
-Private Guild Chat
-Improved Shop
-Upgrades for device users on forums
-Account for entire app
-In App Wiki

So let's jump into what these features would include:

-Interactive Improved Map

This one is tons of fun, because it gives the user the ability to view the map in the same way, however, gives the ability for the player to hold their finger on a map name, and have the app take them directly to the wiki. This feature also shows a flashing arrow on the location the player last logged on or off. This is helpful in those times where you are away from home and ask youself, where exactly in Wynn am I? However, for a device to easily exit the map, all they have to do is hold down their finger on a spot on the map without moving it for 5 seconds, motion will cancel this action. After this action, one may switch between maps by pressing a button that appear at the bottom of the screen.

-Private Guild Chat
This is a private chat for your guild, how it gains information on what guild you are in is it takes your username and scans it for your guild and your rank in game. When you talk your name is arranged like this:

[Username] [Stars for rank]
[Message]
[Time Said]

Your rank in the guild does effect your power, for example, you can mute people who are abusing the chat, and you can remove messages from the chat that show abuse of the chat. One thing that makes this different than just a simple other game chat, is that there would be an ability to post pictures to the guild chat. Also, that it is strictly limited to the guild. The power to join guilds, kick someone from the guild, and leave the guild will remain completely ingame.

-Improved Shop

This shop would have its own separate area. With two tabs, "Ranks" and "Gold Coins"
The descriptions would be the same, however, you would purchase these from in app purchases, not from the current stuff. Meaning yes, Apple users, your ITunes gift cards could be used to buy Wynncraft ranks and gold coins!


-Upgrades for Device Users on Forums

Pages wouldn't load in as you are scrolling, leaving black squares
Pages would be constantly up to date, no need to refresh.
Yet, other features would remain the same, such as the themes and arrangement.

-Account for Entire App("One account, get access to everything in Wynn"):

Forget just the Forums, you can now use your forum account for easier buying, as it is already linked into your minecraft one. Also, because of this, your account would be what the map takes info from, and the guild chat. It would not force you to sign in for all features, however, just if you want to comment on the forums, get a map update on your location, and use guild chat(yes it requires you be in a guild) The account itself will give the following for people on small keyboards:
~Enhanced auto correct(can be turned off)
~Ability to use copy and paste easier(iOS devices don't make copy and paste work well on this website)

In addition to this, it would allow you to theme the entire app if you like dark themed. This would not theme the map, just every other feature. Also, you don't have to sign up again, your forum account would carry over to the app, meaning, you could simply log in with your forum account.

-In App Wiki:

Let's not forget about a better wiki for this app, the wiki would remain nearly the same, however, would be a copied version of the current one. This wiki would have the following in it:
~Rustic Themed(no longer looks as advanced)
~Works with dark theme
~Works side by side app account in order to allow easy edits

This would change the wiki to be more up to date, and people would find it more like the game they are playing!

Perhaps, but wynncraft has amazing devs, artists that will do the art, GMs to fix the idea, and the same great people that made this website. They can make it, despite the effort.

 

A significant portion of the wynncraft team is build and art. This would require a team with significant coding experience and a lot of dedication. That would take away from work on a lot of other projects like the mythical gavel. Before you say that "They have good coders, look at their forums!" if you look closely, you can see that they bought access to a very well made template and just edited that. (pls correct me if im wrong on that, but i'm pretty sure)

 

I made this for a project after gavel. Perhaps they bought that template, but I can tell you for a fact, they can edit the template and make a really nice app out of that.

 

Just so you know iOS or The App Store makes you pay to post an app. I believe its $100 to post, and it would take time away from gavel development. I think this is a good suggestion just not good for right now.

It's not a bad idea, however. The only thing is that this looks like it has so much more information and it seems likely that people would be playing Wynncraft with their iPhone next to the computer.

 

Exactly, for example me, I often play with my IPad by my computer, and I use the forums from my IPad. As such an app that throws every resource together into one would be profitable for Wynncraft and useful for us. Yes Wynncraft owners, it is easier to buy stuff via in app purchase rather than all those pay pal steps.

 

If you guys ever asked how many people actually vote that view the thread, it's 1/16.

you don't pay 100 every time... It's just once for licensing and copyright stuff and then you can post apps for a lot less

 

No, it's not. It's $100USD a year to be part of the Developer Program. It's got nothing to do with licensing and copyright. The point of the fee is to weed out bad developers who only want to have an app on the App Store in order to brag to their friends or something along those lines.

 

This would be a good way to attract more players to WynnCraft and more players to the forums. I fully think this would be a great addition, but here are some pro's and con's:

Pros:

1. Mobile Forum Access, increasing forum activity.
2. Increased WynnCraft awareness
3. Either a $0.99 download fee or one page with an ad could bring in extra revenue and help pay for Wynncraft
4. Access Wiki easily while playing
5. Improved shop, etc.

Cons:

1. Takes time from the Art team
2. Takes time from the Dev team
3. Costs money
4. Will need maintenance

In total, I think it is a good idea, but some others may not.

 

Wynncraft takes a lot of money to function already. Its also to the point where Vip and Vip+ dont really affect gamepleay so not a lot of people donate. They need all the money they get
