Website & Forums Wynn Translate?

As my Swedish translating team and I were doing our thing, chatting while translating, we thought about how the number of Quest Translating threads have been multiplying. We then thought, what if there can be a Translation subforum on the forums. This is to avoid all the translation threads from flooding other subforums. Plus the threads would have their own spot which will make it easier for the players to find these translation threads. We could call it Translations or Wynn Translate. Something of the sort. I just doens't have to be for quests. People can add in and translate different things found on the server. You get the idea, right?
Anyhoo, I do not know what other detail I can add to this since this seems to be a pretty straight
forward idea. If we ever get more ideas though, we'll add them here. ^^ <3

I support this fully! People've been complaining about the influx of translation threads flooding the WynnCraft sub-forum.

Would be easier to find for those who want translated versions.
But what's your goal with all these translations? Do you want people to go on the forums while doing a quest? How would this person know whether they're reading the right dialogue for the quest bit they're doing?

 

I agree theres alot of Translations threads so yea it should be added

If Crunkle ever gets the time (I am looking at after Gavel + 1 year), then he could add some shit where he could make us paste in the translated text in some boxes for all quests on GitHub.
Like, make WynnCraft multilanguage.

 

Hm. And people could select a language at the start of their adventure? And change it at some random NPC?

 

That would be a bit hectic, no? One could also just have a minimized window of the translations.

 

Another window for translations? Ingame? While doing the quest?

 

Shouldnt someone make a common thread for all reanslations, so that its easy to find your own language?

 

A seperate window. Like have the forums open and minimized on the side. Basically have two windows, side-by-side. Though if there is a way for this to be done cleaner and easier than that would be good too.

 

You wouldn't really know when what dialogue should be shown though, and if you make it a big spreadsheet, there are spoilers your eye'll accidentally catch..

Yea but then with all the contenct, that would be one massive thread. It seems easier to have a seperate thread for one language and put the content there.

 

two options:
1. This was my intentional idea, but to link every thread to one central thread would make it easy for people to navigate.

2. easier idea. Everyone uses the tag "translate" only for this purpose. every non-related thread gets deleted or is forced to take the tag away.

I like the number two option best, because it automaticly updates without anyone needing to constantly update the thread.

One thing we gotta figure out is the common tag though...

I get your idea. Could work. But then the thread would get pushed down somewhere in the depths of the forums. And its several contents so yee.

 

A mod could temporarily "stick" this thread to the top of the page in the "Wynncraft" section?

And btw. If the tag gets flooded, I hava a great personal tip. do [Ctrl + G], then searh for the language of your desire
