Chapter 1​

King's Recruit

There are two evil forces that constantly clash in this land; the Corruption and the Cursed Ones, the humans. The war that started a thousand years ago continues today.

Mountainous area | Path to Ragni | Sunny | 10:34 AM

There is a teenage boy resting in a horse-driven caravan that has stopped on its way to Ragni, in the province of Wynn.

The boy yawns as he awakens.​

Caravan Driver♂: (Feeding the horses) Finally, you're awake! Everyone already went on ahead.
Cedric♂: (Rubs eyes) How long was I asleep for?
Caravan Driver♂: I'd say a good five or six minutes.
Cedric♂: (Exits caravan) I see, thanks.
Caravan Driver♂: This is as far as we go, right to the border. Sorry we couldn't take you all the way, here is a partial refund for the journey. Use it to buy yourself some armour.
Cedric♂: (Takes money) It's no problem, I'm off then! (Starts running off)
Caravan Driver♂: Hold on! What's your name?
Cedric♂: (Stops and looks back) It's Cedric. (Runs off) See ya!

Cedric | Age 16 | Human | Male | Short black hair | Dark brown eyes

As he travels along the path, there are houses and farms along the mountain sides and bottoms.

Cedric crosses a ravine by using an already fallen tree and is stopped upon reaching the entrance to a cave area.​

Merchant♂: Stop right there!

A merchant stops the boy.

This merchant is a Villager, a race of people that live alongside humans. Villagers are identified by their elongated, bald foreheads, noses, green eyes, and are usually merchants or traders due to their constant lust for Emeralds; the currency of this world.​

Cedric♂: What is it now?
Merchant♂: You can't go in the cave without proper protection. Buy one of my helmets for 5 Emeralds.
Cedric♂: I don't have time for this, outta the way.

A soldier from the nearby city of Ragni blocks the entrance.​

Soldier♂: Now hold it, he's right. You need a helmet to pass.
Cedric♂: Hm. (Looks and points upwards / Acts surprised) Hey, what's that up there!
Soldier♂: (Looks up) Huh? I don't see anything.
Merchant♂: He tricked us! He didn't buy a helmet!
Cedric♂: (Runs into the cave) Ha, that should teach 'em. (Stops) Huh?

A group of undead break through the side of a wall.

The undead and some other creatures are what represent the Corruption in this land.​

Cedric♂: Today's an important day y'know, don't think you're getting in my way now!

He slashes and defeats the undead with his spear, but more start appearing.​

A group of soldiers step in.​

Ragni Knight♂: You're Cedric, right? Get to the castle, we'll handle all of these undead!
Cedric♂: (Exits cave) Thanks! I'll leave it to you!

Ragni | King's Room | Sunny | 11:02 AM​

Cedric♂: (Looks around) So this is the king's castle. It's larger than I thought it would be.
Ragni's King♂: You must be the last recruit! Finally nice to meet you. What did you say your name was?

Ragni's King | Age Old | Villager | Male | Long grey beard | Snores loudly​

Cedric♂: (Walks up to King) It's Cedric.
Ragni's King♂: What a peculiar name. Anyway, welcome to the province of Wynn! This is the noble fort of Ragni, one of the oldest and most influential cities in the province! Your job as a soldier of Wynn is to stop the growth of the monsters that are ravaging the province. You might want to train a little more before hand, though. Many lives are lost everyday. Anyway, good luck! If you are lost, use this map, (Hands map) it is very useful if you don't know where to go. And also, as your first task, speak with Enzan. He usually sits by the eastern bridge.
Cedric♂: Thanks, but I don't need training. I can get to the jobs right away. By the way, (Jokingly) how long did it take you to come up with that speech?
Ragni's King♂: Hm, let's see. It took about four minutes.

A woman holding a book enters the room.​

Jaquelyn♀: Don't you mean four days, sir?
Ragni's King♂: (Chuckles) Hm? What might you be talking about? This is Jacquelyn, my assistant. She helps with paperwork and memorizing.
Cedric♂: Nice to meet you. Anyway, how do I get out of here again?
Jacquelyn♀: I'll escort him out of the castle, sir.

Jacquelyn | Age 42 | Human | Female | Dark blue eyes | Wears glasses | Long brown hair | Usually holding a book​

Ragni's King♂: Thank you. Good luck out there, soldier!

As they are walking down a hallway.

Jacquelyn♀: Are you sure that you want to become a soldier?
Cedric♂: Why do you ask?
Jacquelyn♀: It's a dangerous world out there. I don't think it's right for a kid such as yourself to be fighting monsters that could rip off your flesh and eat you alive.
Cedric♂: It's fine. I enlisted to be a soldier for my own reasons.
Jacquelyn♀: (Stops in front of a door) Here is the exit, outside is the city of Ragni. If you have any questions about the town, feel free to ask an assistant or the king.
Cedric♂: (Opens door) Thanks, I will. (Exits)

The streets of Ragni bustles with humans and Villagers.

Ragni | Eastern Exit | Sunny | 11: 24 AM

There is a human sitting on a bridge near the exit.

Cedric♂: Hey! Are you Enzan!
Enzan♂: (Enthusiastically) Yep, that's me! I see you want to venture into the wilderness!
Cedric♂: Kinda? You look like a retired knight by the looks of it.
Enzan♂: That's right, I've spent most of my life fighting for Ragni's army, just like you. Being a Rank 1 soldier, I want to you help you out a little. (Points towards exit) You see that trail? My brother is near the entrance of Nivla Forest. He sells powder for a living. If you tell him I sent you, he'll give you a sack for free. Make sure you tell him I sent you! He can be such a jerk to strangers sometimes!
Cedric♂: I will!

Ragni | King's Room | Sunny | 12:07 PM​

Jacquelyn♀: Are you sure it was a good idea to recruit him? He's just a boy after all.
Ragni's King♂: (Looking out a window) I'm sure. He does come from that bloodline. Besides, there was another soldier who was much younger.

The young boy's adventure into Wynn now begins.

Wynn Province | In a cave somewhere | Sunny | 12:07 PM​

Cultist♂: You got the news?
Cultist #2♂: No, what is it?
Cultist♂: They found it. It's under Ragni.
