Wynn's Odd Quest Progression -- What Of It?

I'm new to the Wynncraft community, please don't eat me.

Hey, so I've been wondering why Wynncraft's quest progression system is so strange.

I have a few theories of my own on why it is, but I decided to make a thread about the topic to see if any of you guys know the answer.

Now, when I say "quest progression," I mean how quests are distributed to players based on the amount of levels required to start them.

In this Spoiler I have listed every level in which players unlock 2+ quests upon a level-up and levels that simply do not unlock any quests at all.

As you can see, there are a lot of levels where no quest is unlocked. 23 in total.
However, there are exactly double the amount of quests that are unlocked along with one or more others upon a level-up.

So yeah, I'm just curious as to why they couldn't/didn't assign levels that don't award any quests with quests from levels that give more than one.

Holy shit, please make this dark theme friendly you ungodly light themer. Ok, so a lot of these quests don't even give enough xp to level up half way to the next level. Thus, adding two quests guarantees you can make it to the next level and that you don't have to do quests, grind, level up, do quests, grind, level up. This means less moving between grind spots.

 

easy to level in lower levels, in higher levels, it's that they still are working on the content

Thats cuz Gavel added an insane amount of unnecisary quests. Most of which are total shit anyway

The reason for this distribution is that most quests are side quests made by individuals and there isn’t a “main” storyline. So while they do try to fill in level gaps, they aren’t trying to be uniform and could easily forget to check if there is already a quest at that particular level.

Though why there is an over abundance of quests in the level 70 to 80 range while there are almost none in the endgame is anyone’s best guess. Perhaps it was that they weren’t done building Molten Heights yet and weren’t coordinated (since Gavel took almost a year and was made by volunteers). So in order to keep people working they had them working on the next highest level range since they couldn’t work on the endgame quests. And then by the time the update was due they didn’t have time to add extra quests.

That’s just my theory, so don’t quote me on any of this since I was never apart of the CT during Gavel’s development. It’s just what I think is the most plausible.

 

I feel like it isn't that complicated and it's just a "Hey, let's do a quest here?"
