Welcome back once again to Wynnic Lore; the thread series that’s too lazy to make a video yet intends to overanalyze anything Wynncraft-related. Before getting too far into this week’s lore, I’ve made a few changes. I will now be moving polls to the End section of the post, so it’s less messy and all over the place. You can also expect for the general arrangement of the sections to be different. This should be the last time I change the format of the posts, but I’m always open to suggestions.

Anyway, this week we’ll be dissecting the possible origins of Wynn’s greatest hero, Yahya. What do you mean Yahya isn’t Wynn’s greatest hero? Oh fine. I’ll study Bob’s species instead. With him being one of the most powerful beings in Wynn, I used his famous life story to start off Wynnic Lore. One of the largest mysteries that story leaves, however, is what Robert is. Even when you enter the Wynn Plains Monument, it doesn’t make his species immediately clear to anyone newer to Wynncraft, despite showing exactly what he looked like during his battle with Bak’al. Well, let’s see if we can change that...

    Speculation
The only times most people get to see Bob are either when his dead body reawakens near his hometown of Ragni, or in the scenario the Wynn Plains Monument replays. His dead body looks like just about any other zombie, but he clearly has some level of control over it, as it doesn’t harm anyone aside from by his tears hitting people. Without much information from a dead Robert, we can still turn to a somewhat living Robert. In the Wynn Plains Monument, we can clearly see that he has grey skin, though this could just be a genetic illness, as most sentient creatures have pale, brown, or green skin. He also has a very clearly humanoid shape, but that doesn’t help narrow down the possibilities much, as we can tell from many more sources that he’s sentient, and most sentient creatures have at least vaguely humanoid bodies. With this, we’ve found just about everything we have to work with visually. But visual ques aren’t the only way to identify our great hero’s species.

We know that the species is likely more capable of using magic, as the spells Bob uses are far more powerful than those of the average soldier. Now this is far more helpful, as most Ragni soldiers are human, a species that’s right in the center of magic capability. If Robert is more magically capable than humans, then that leaves us with far fewer possible species. And the weapon he channels magic through is also a good indicator towards what he is, as he has great control over the dark weapon. This removes the option of him being heavily aligned with light magic, like elves, heliolux, and fairies.

But even with this, Bob could be any one of several species, most notably dwarves, demons, and... wait a moment, what about Olm? If Robert were an olm, then that would immediately explain the grey skin, and they were well known for their magical abilities, even altering time. The olm also attempted to use a mix between light and dark magic, but not corruption, rather a kind of penumbra. This means Bob would have been able to interact with object with ties to powerful light magic and powerful dark magic with relative ease. Even his loose control over his zombie is explained by this, as in the Timeless Ruin, a seemingly dead olm releases a burst of magic in its room when you enter, then speaks before going back to its dead state. And right there is the last piece of evidence that Robert’s species is the olm; that olm speaks in Ancient Wynnic when it uses its magic. Whenever Bob casts a spell, he speaks in Ancient Wynnic, despite no one clearly teaching him the language. Momo, his adopted mother, may have taught him to speak it to some extent, but do you shout “Getting out of bed!” in Latin as you struggle to wake yourself up?

    The Story
Given the information available on the olm, and what we just learned about Robert, here is what I believe may have happened.

Roughly 800BP, the olm controlled the Wynn province. This was before humans had become prominent, and were still mostly indigenous to Fruma. For quite a while, the olm continued to strengthen their magical abilities. They spread across the area we now call Wynn, building cities in areas with powerful magic to study it. They had learned how to control time and space to an extent, had access to artifacts of strong light and dark magic, and were overall quite adept when it came to the use and properties of magic.

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end eventually. A great beast began to kill them off. The olm responded by gathering powerful magic crystals to further empower their people in an effort to survive. But this effort didn’t help. In the jungle, one of the last remaining olmic cities was destroyed, and the crystals disappeared with it. Helpless, the last olmic city tried to remain hidden near the realm the creature came from, but it was a lost cause.

Hundreds of years later, humans arrived in Wynn, claiming it as a new province and thriving until the great beast sent a new threat; corruption. Bak’al and his armies of the corrupt devastated the human settlements, with only two surviving, Troms, in the very jungle the crystals disappeared in, and Ragni, at the end of the valley between Wynn and Fruma. Both forts were beginning to struggle with the hordes, until a new hero arrived...

One olm had survived the initial massacre and had managed to survive among the humans in Ragni, but was too afraid to act, as she had two lives to worry about. During one of the attacks on Ragni, the citizens hid in the sewers, where that one remaining olm died giving birth to Bob, not just the hero of the Wynn province, but avenger of his people and the last olm.

    The End
I’m glad to see that you’ve reached the end of another post. After the struggle with my previous Wynnic Lore, I decided to go back to the root of the series, and I think that went rather well. This new format is also rather helpful, and a massive improvement over what I was doing before. Feel free to add your own ideas to this thread and enjoy your day.

I think it's more likely that the Olm founded a secret civilization somewhere and tried to hide among humans. It's also possible that the corrupt dislike humans because the olm are among them and they only dislike the olm truly.

Timeline tells us that humans colonized Wynn even before 800BP

    Otherwise great thread

Thanks! I hadn't realized that the Wynncraft wiki had a timeline page. This will make these posts much easier to make!

You mean like Eltom in Gavel? I'd say it's possible, although not necessarily the most likely scenario, but that's more just what I think. Keep in mind that the corruption spreads all throughout Wynn underground, as shown in the Beneath the Roots secret discovery. If there it were really just the olm that the corruption targeted, then it would have accomplished it's goal long ago, leaving it with little reason to continue to harass the humans and villagers of Wynn. Seeing as the penumbra magic the olm used was a king of counter to the corruption though, I can see where you might be coming from with this.
