I cancelled the old one. It was gettign too boring tbh. Here's a new one for people to read. Hope you like it! All future posts for this story will be on THIS THREAD. Don't go looking for part 1, 2, 3 ect.

Jason stayed quiet in his caravan. He was a small-time merchant working for his boss to supply Nemract with some fishing equipment, and he was meant to stay in the back of the caravan making sure nothing breaks. The caravan was big and slow, drawn by 4 strong horses and guarded by a single crossbow-wielding archer. good protection against bandits, but nothing that can defend a caravan as big as this from what Nemract's nearby ruins are famous for. Jason kept checking on the fragile fishing rods, making sure the rough, bumpy road didn't damage them when an arrow thudded into the side of the caravan. It was black and bloodstained, a weapon from an older age. He looked out the window and sure enough he knew what to expect. 5 corrupted warriors stood outside. They were all skeletons, devoid of any flesh or skin.

Jason grabbed the fishing equipment and ran. The guard fired off a single shot and hit a skeleton in the head. Jason didn't care about his orders. He might even get extra pay if he makes it to nemract on his own with the equipment. He would be a hero. He was about 20 metres down the road when a bony punch knocked him to the ground. More skeletons, about 10 this time. One of them had gotten close enough to hit him in the head and wound him. He wasn't planning on dying here, and struggled against the bony grip of the skeleton, but a second one stepped forward, carrying a knife. He raised it, preparing to gut Jason.

A boulder flew out of nowhere. The knife wielding skeleton was crushed under the weight of the boulder. His ally looked up, only to be shot in the chest with a burning arrow. A battlecry was being shouted, something that sounded a lot like "DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!". Interesting choice. A lightning bolt came down from above, vapourising several skeletons at once, while spikes of earth surrounded the main group. An arrow with a bomb tied to the end finished them off. When jason looked over, 3 heavily armed soldiers greeted him. The first was Dernic, a strange sight this far in wynn. He wore the green robes of an earth mage, and carried a wooden staff glowing with power. The second was an archer in flaming armour with a bow strapped to her back. Her hair was flame red and her face covered by her helmet. Lastly was a warrior carrying a double-bladed spear. He would have been strangely short, despite the typical warrior appearance, if it wasn't for his enhanced armour. A yellow emblem was displayed on his chestplate, the mark of Detlas.

"Get away from me!" Jason pulled out a knife. He had been trained briefly in knife combat but there were 4 of them, all skilled adventurers. The mage flicked his hand. Jason's knife flew over his shoulder into a lake.

"I think we should kill him. He's so grateful, isn't he?" Sneered the warrior. His face was covered by a steel visor but Jason knew he was smiling.

"Shut up, Max." Muttered the archer. She aimed her bow, but it wasn't at Jason. The remaining skeletons were retreating in the distance but they may still return.

"We are.... well that's none of your concern. We are dedicated to killing the corrupted that harass travellers around here. Since we saved your life, we expect you to return the favour." Said the mage. His robes swirled around like a sandstorm in the desert. Of all the 3 he found him the most unsettling.

"Let me explain quickly. You see those skeletons over there? They have a master. He lives in some stinking hole in ancient nemract. To kill him we need an archer, a mage, a warrior like me, and an assasin. You're the closest thing we have to an assasin. Assuming nothing blows you up or mauls you, then you're coming with us." Blabbered Max, the warrior. He didn't pay much attention to what he said, but what he heard he didn't like.

"Take this. Don't break it." said the archer. She gave him a green dagger, a strange looking weapon made of 2 long, sharp struts forming a dagger shape.

"No way, dont give him my knife! He's going to break it!" complained Max. Nobody seemed to listen to him.

"We need to get you trained. We'll spend one day training you and then we're going to take you to the dungeons." Continued the mysterious archer.

"I don't understand. Why do you want me?" Shouted jake, puzzled by all this confusion.

"Because of what you were carrying. That knife was the Scorpion, a legendary weapon only the best assasins have wielded. Anyone who has that shows promise." Replied the archer, still as mysterious as ever.
The warrior grinned behind his visor. The mage looked down at the ground as if something was going ot jump oit of it and punch him, which is possible since they are near ancient nemract.

"You better start walking. It's a long way ot the hideout and I don't want any of Nemcact's guards seeing me. Not after what I did to their king. This world follows only 1 rule, and that's kill or get killed. I don't want to die out here yet!"Shouted Max, who had already started walking away.

Jason followed. He was both scared and excited. If he did this, he would definitely become a hero, although the mauling and exploding mentioned by his new warrior buddy was not an experience that he planned on going through. He followed them, perhaos to his death, or to glory.
