Wynncraft Server Promotion

I've always been bothered by why wynncraft dosent beg for server promotion ("vote for us on planet minecraft or we will eat your childeren"), it seems like every server I have been on does this apart from wynncraft. Does anyone have any ideas why?
I just feel that maybe if wynncraft started to do more server promotion, the server and its community would grow. Thus allowing for more frequent content updates and more "good stuff" overall.

The thing about the server promotion mentioned (Planet Minecraft voting and other similar methods) is that it is seen as "annoying" and even rude by some server staff. Many servers ban players for advertising or voting for other servers, and it usually leaves a negative mark on our community.

Also, Wynncraft chooses staff (such as mods), so applications don't exist. That being said, more players won't result in more staff. It might increase the player base, but in terms of the Content Team and staff those will continue to go up at the slow pace it is currently.

 

You can't apply for moderator, only gm and builder rank. Those are content team ranks, not staff ranks.

I enjoy Wynncraft's community as it is right now. I would say that on the forums, we're almost in that situation where everyone knows each other.

 

Why don't quality servers require advertising? It's not as if everyone intrinsically knows that wynncraft exists and that they might enjoy it.
There's a massive player base of people who would enjoy wynncraft but have never heard of it. Surely some advertisement would be benifical to the community?

What I mean is that Wynncraft right now doesn't require expansion (Or Idk, our 3 might Admins might need some more players to donate bah) because I like the size of the community as it is right now.

Well, with the arrival of a few Minecraft YouTubers, the player base is probably already increasing. Plus, advertising on servers has never been successful, since most players on the server are devoted to that particular server. They don't want to leave their gameplay just to go check out this random ip that was said on chat. And, most servers ban players for advertising.

I think that the community is fine for now and it doesn't need any additional advertising. I don't want other players thinking our community is the typical "play our server or else we'll DDOS your server" style of player.

Not even cosmetic things? (Effects, pets etc. Btw I'm not for one moment suggesting that you give any of these things to voters but more that if no gameplay enhanceing items are given out then it shouldn't break the eula.)
