Wynncraft Proxy Issue

This is intended and hopefully is able to reach to the person that manages the proxy to the wynncraft server.

I like to check if there is a possibility to reset/disable the nearest proxy to Singapore.

I understand that wynncraft setup proxy around the world to speed up the connection to the main server in the US. The average connection to the US is 250ms from Singapore among me and my peers. However, recently, it became unplayable with connection spiking up to 2k - 4k which is not normal.

However, when using a paid VPN to proxy over to Malaysia (Neighboring country). The connection is relatively stable at around 250ms. Whist this is not an issue for me with a paid vpn. It isn't for my peers who are also playing from Singapore and are experiencing similar issue.

 

I dont think wynncraft can afford to maintain perfectly proxies around the world. it is hard but given that probably most players do not live in singapore or other places far away from the US, because of the servers limited resources, the expense is great. But maybe someone could help, I dont know much about this and I might be entirely wrong. Best wishes!

 

Thanks for the input, the intent to check if there is a possibility to restart or disable their existing Singapore Proxy to Wynncraft Server. Their proxy is already in place and paid but it is counter-intuitive to its original intent as players in Singapore is unable to access the server.

If disable, packets will be automatically route to the next nearest neighbor which is Malaysia (next to Singapore) which have a relatively good connection and uses the proxy from there to Wynncraft Server which has a much stable connection.

To dumb down, proxy are like a high speed railway station that directly transport the packet to the destination in a private route. In this case, it will be packet walking over to Malaysia via public routing and then taking the high speed train to Wynncraft Server instead of walking to Singapore via public routing and then taking the broken high speed train to Wynncraft Server.

To shed some light on my investigation that concluded that it could be a Singapore Proxy that is having an issue are the following;

- My peers from different ISP in Singapore are having similar ms to Wynncraft Server (250ms on a blue moon, average 2k - 4k ms)
- My peers in Malaysia are fine connecting to Wynncraft Server (200ms - 250ms)
- Paid VPN to Malaysia and connected to Wynncraft Server from Malaysia (This mean that the connection from Malaysia's VPN Server was routed to the nearest Wynncraft proxy and connected over to Wynncraft Server) (250ms - 300ms)
- Paid VPN to London (250ms)
- Paid VPN to New York (250ms)
- It only happen recently for around the past two weeks. Before that, the connection to Wynncraft was fine.

No worries, I'm grateful for any input that anyone has to see if there is something else that I might have miss out on my initial post and to continue the traction of this post upwards, hopefully for a staff member manages the infrastructure for Wynncraft to see it.
