Hello! Today I'm bringing you somewhat of a different thread. The Great Lore Index isn't being scrapped or anything, so don't worry about that. However, this is an independent project I've been working on for a few days or so (not actually very long compared to theory threads), and it is a simple guide to Wynn's lore!

If you are a new player, this is for you! Note that because this is for new players, only Wynn's lore will be covered, because by the time a player reaches Gavel they will know enough about how the game works to piece together lore for themselves, and I really don't want to spoil that.

    WYNNCRAFT LORE FOR DUMMIES:

Wynn is a province in the world of Wynncraft, and is inhabited by two major races - the humans and the villagers. The humans came from a province called Fruma, and you are one of them.

The humans have built lots of great cities throughout the province - the two greatest being Troms and Ragni. The humans are at war with the evil armies of corruption. Corruption is basically a disease that infects humans and turns them into zombies. The corrupt armies are lead by Bak'al, but he has not been seen in a while.

The villagers, on the other hand, are much newer to the province. the humans arrived over 1000 years ago, but the villagers have only been in Wynn for 100 years. They came from Gavel, another province. They have both big noses and a lot of money (emeralds). They haven't built any cities in Wynn, but have built lots of small towns like Maltic.

Lets talk about corruption a bit more, and answer some basic questions. Where did the corruption come from? The corruption came from a place now named "the Roots of Corruption". the roots were originally a mine, where people from a nearby city would mine for emeralds, which have always been the currency of Wynn. However, they were greedy and dug too deep, and unearthed a portal.

This portal is basically the cause of all the disasters in Wynn. it leads to a realm called the nether, which was once a world just like Wynn, but was completely decimated by corruption. The corruption was created when light and dark clashed and created a new force - something you'll learn about as you progress. When the miners unearthed it, a huge army of zombies marched out, and burned the miners' city to the ground! This began the corruption wars.

The corruption wars are still happening when you join Wynn, and you are a recruit who must help the people of Wynn against the monsters. Next question: what does corruption look like? Well, corruption is both a physical and a non-physical force. Sometimes, in areas where the corruption has taken a hold, large obsidian spikes will appear, and strange monsters will spawn within them.

That's the basics. However, there are a few more things to know if you want to add to your knowledge. First of all, there was once a man named Bob, and he was the hero of Wynn. However, he went missing after going to seal away a dark creature. This dark creature will be very important in the story later on, so remember that detail.

Lastly, you might be overwhelmed by all the geography of the province. Well, my friends, that will all be explained in a new thread coming later this week (I think). the lore and geography are linked in some ways, so if you're new and feeling in above your head, keep an eye out.

There is still a lot you can learn about the lore of Wynn. From the Twains (a magical "family" that was torn apart by hate) to the fateful crystals unearthed by an untrustworthy company, there is so much to know! If you need help understanding anything, send me a message and I'll be happy to help.

I hope you enjoyed reading this.
And to all the veterans in the comments saying how inaccurate this is, please bear with it. I have had to abbreviate many things, such as the siege of Ancient Nemract, to keep this simple for the intended audience.

    Happy theorising!

It wasn't really money that drove Thoerick though. It was what came wit money - power. Theorick just wanted to be recognised and was arrogant and could not see that there is more to honour than your name being known.

He could at least mention them. Like "Im Gavel there is The Decay which slowly kill the nature of the province and in Corkus there are trying to take over the Island"

where does it say this? this is interesting
I see 0 veterans in the comments saying this is "inaccurate" because you abbreviated a lot of stuff. the siege of ancient nemract didn't even have to be abbreviated. you could have just said "the zombies that emerged from the roots of corruption struck a city called Nemract first, and it was transformed into a dangerous, hostile, undead-filled crypt called Ancient Nemract". is there more to it than that?

I can't remember the quest, but i am 100% certain of this. I think it might have been the Realm of Light.

I was basically saying not to go on about innacuracy. It was just a way of structuring a sentence for something I believed was going to be inevitable.
Yes, there is a bit more to it than that. Charon, for example, or how some people believe the Twains fought.
