Overall it's.. acceptable. Still a few things wrong that need to be fixed such as the bottom "wall" texture being comically shrunk, and the slightly smaller top bar making the standard background-to-context box ratio making it feel as if i'm slightly zoomed out all the time now. The special store button being even further off from center and the much more snappy text in the new nav bar are also not my favorites, but all things considered, I guess it could've been worse? There's some really miniscule things I'm slightly annoyed about as well, like the nav bar icons seeming to be higher than the middle- I can live with the IP being always shown at the top of the screen though, just glad it isn't attached to the nav bar.

Oh, and the custom scroll bar. It's yucky and I think the cause for the zoomed out feeling.

As for general forums theme changes, I kinda think that unless something is really aggressively bad it should just be kept as an optional theme and instead new standard dark/light modes created. It's not as if people who genuinely care about the forum themes would ever need to know the IP, for example. If I'm remembering correctly, back in 2019 the dark theme received some odd & unannounced changes as well, which similarly could've simply been made a new theme.

I know the forums is old, but for those of us who still enjoy using it, we've grown attached to old looks, and I don't know if anyone's really looking to get it modernized. Discord's already seemed to be the preferred alternative these days anyway.

 

Font was returned to old one which is cool.
But why was the help part in the website completely removed?

 

Being on the move & using the forums on my phone for the first time since the redesign, I have to say that aside from the bottom wall decoration still being tiny it's actually quite an improvement for the mobile view side of things- the thinner line icons work well for mobile and the nav bar has more options, plus the menu + profile/notif icons that scroll along being more compact actually helps you out.

also the weird mix of svg and png is very offputting

the background and main logo are (on my screen) pretty clearly a pixel based image format, while the buttons hovering right over it are vector and it looks rather odd

I dislike the occasional buy champion pop up but besides that it's okay.

 

starry night is back so its all good

 

I like the updates. Before this innovation, it was almost always difficult to find any buttons in the navigation and the user manual did not help.
