Wynn Religions And Its Possible Atheism

I know @PL_ADI already did a thread like this https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/wynn-religions.240049/, but he talked about rather well-known information and wasn't very clear about it. So I decided to talk more thoroughly about Wynn's religions (please don't get angry at me @PL_ADI) as it seems to be forcefully shoved as un-important through Wynn.

Now it's not clear if Bovemism which IRL comes from the latin word "Bovine" which means cow, even though Bovemism isn't a real religion (in Hinduism they apparently relieve animals such as cows as sacred animals so I suppose it comes from that) it apparently focuses on worship of Salted, as his head is put on a pedestal in churches, supposedly being the Bovemist version of a cross, despite this churches apparently still go by their christianic name "church" and Bovemism uses its symbol, a cross, as well, it is not apparent through any mean if Bovemism is a Wynnic or Gavelian religion, most likely Gavel as in churches it is mainly villagers who inhabit these Bovemist churches.

Apparently there is another religion as the words "Gods" is said by some NPCs, meaning there is Polytheism in Wynn, supposing this I believe this a Wynnic religion as most NPCs that are humans say this, some item descriptions talk about these "gods" in how strong they are and how they carved the world, it isn't clear who these god are, but they may be like those of Greek or Roman style. Then there is of course Anti-Bovemism which is the hate of the deity Salted and hate for the religion, and its followers worship Peppered apparently, a antagonist of the CraftedMovie series which was the start of the developers of Wynn, but soon Peppered was defeated and presumed gone for good until he came to Wynn to seek his revenge having many follower camps in secret places and being buried in a cave near Troms, his ghost haunting his grave.

Then we have the many tribal religions of Wynn which, so far one is only really recorded, that being an un-named religion practiced by a tribe in Dernel Jungle who worship a sentient tree known as Entamis, who is infected by a infectous, corrupt insect known as Aenara, you kill Aenara and prevent the rebirth of Entamis to evil, but Entamis dies shortly after. Now we talk about Wynn's possible Atheism, there may be some people who don't practice religion at all in Wynn, even though it is unlikely it is possible, but it has never been mentioned by any NPCs before, but then there are cults who worship evil like the WynnExcavation Society and the Cult Of Naragath, it isn't clear what the religion of the Realm of Light is at all.

TLDR: Wynn and Gavel have 2 main religions, Bovemism and an un-named Polytheist religion, and several cults and tribes, and perhaps Atheism along the way.

 

So since there's no evidence for there NOT being any atheists in Wynn, it means there may be atheists in Wynn? That doesn't make sense.

 

Don't forget about gods such as the Elven God Etina and the Dogun God Garaheth (the latter of which might be touched upon in the new Molten Heights quests, but I don't know since I haven't done them yet). Those are two gods that seem to actually exist in the game, unlike the bovine whcih may or may not be real.

 

Just like in real life, there obviously has to be some people who don't practice religion, you can't just suppose no one doesn't believe in something.

I haven't talked about them as there hardly is any description of them other than item lores, but Garaheth may become important, but Garaheth is dead as well as most of the Doguns so it isn't an active religion.

Still Bovinism or something cow-related so it's off the list, seems like a lot of people be worshippin' those cows.

Which, honestly, sounds like a set up for a cliche god figure that has infinite power

IMO, a corrupted sort of personality that gives it a violent malice but a pure and charismatic elegance would make it more enjoyable, alongside its dialogue. Imagine a very rich mafia boss (no, not mafia city, like an actual underground crime boss) that is completely a fucking monster, but speaks with an elegant tone and elegant mannerisms due to his wealthy lifestyle.

and when combined with being an eldrich abomination it can go well or go bad. And as long as the being of unlimited power can’t be killed by a bunch of teenagers and the power of love, qny eldrich abomination is fine.

Tl:dr
If the eye is actually quite chill and knows it’s evil and would casually chat with you when not eating you alive with one of its hundred mouths, I would already be intrested. Or if it’s immune to love triangles.

 

Bovine is the only acceptable religion in Wynncraft.
