Art Wip 3d Velociraptor (also To Anyone Who Knows How To Blender Help How Am I Supposed To Symmetry)

I just started using Blender
It's really hard i'm not happy
but I'm happy with this
Once I do the putting the bones in the thingy thingy I'll probably use it to help make 2d art (and possibly animation?), but I can't figure out how to make the goddamn symmetry thing to work so i still cant do the wings and legs someone help

Also in that shit doodle there I accidentally created a Blenderaptor so I got curious and shit out another doodle

i know nothing about modeling but that looks pretty solid so far
can't wait to see the finish result

 

Nice to see someone starting with Blender!

Just some tips, you don't have to screenshot the software, you can render the image by pressing f12. Also, if you wanna render the image you'll probably need some materials, lighting and a background.

By the way, theres a mirror modifier in the modifiers tab on the right.

And here's a modeling tip, try to create a non high poly model and then smooth it later

And I'd also suggest you to switch the rendering engine from internal (Blender render) to cycles, it's a newer rendering engine that circulates the lighting and the materials much better (you switch it at the top of the screen)

although it could be argued that Velociraptor were hot because they lived in the Mongolian desert, although I cannot find a proper temperature range on the internet. However, most deserts are hot, so it would be semi-safe to assume this one to be too.
