Why do projectiles do so much damage?!

    I've seen a large amount of mobs in the game do unbelievable amounts of damage with projectiles, and as a paladin it sucks getting shredded apart like this. Does defense not come into the damage calc of projectiles? Or am I not maxing the right stats??

    Literally any ranged mob. I have armor that is on par if not better than my level for awhile now but I keep getting shredded health wise by anything ranged especially rapid fire ones. My defense is at 64 at level 52, something is clearly not right.

    Burst ranged have always been able to one or two hit me as a riftwalker
    Warrior doesn’t have the luxury of being able to run away and attack from a distance so I guess just run while they’re firing off

    uppersurfing makes most projectiles miss

    they're level 52
    they dont have access to whirlwind

    i assume you're talking about jungle fetishes, i agree, those are the WORST
    like it was so bad that i entirely stopped leveling my warrior (i chose warrior as my first class) and got archer to 105, mage to 105, and shaman to 104 before finally getting my warrior to 104
    here's a tip: sacrifice all dps, go mythril skin
    use anchoryl
    at level 58, use kratke
    use durum's serenity for skill points
    air shout can also help kill stuff
    scarlet veil gives a lot of hp, so it's good for things that dont do elemental damage

    honestly if u look at it from a physics standpoint

    most projectiles are like sharp objects in wynncraft (or weird magic balls)

    sharp objects have reduced drag plus have a minimal area to strike with, but a lot of force

    such a large amount of force focused on one point causes big damage

    idk how the magic stuff do so much dmg tho

    Thanks for the advice! I've just had such a hard time with Warrior and soloing some content. I hope it pays off in the late game, I've been trying to funnel all my efforts on this one character to make it to the late game areas that I've never been to.

    Any idea how I should distribute stats?

    alright so here's a quick overview of all classes
    Warrior- decent at everything. Tanky, but damage is not amazing. also can be tricky to use corrupted
    Archer- very high damage and good mobility, ok ehp. crowd control and earlygame are sorta tough though. Mostly used in raids due to high dps
    Mage- easy class, due to heal. bad damage compared to other classes, ok mobility. Not amazingly useful in endgame
    Assassin- relatively difficult due to short range. Decent damage and ehp
    Shaman- overpowered levels of crowd control, has access to heals, does decent damage, but has terrible ehp. Also hard to play due to its mechanics and low base resistance

    If you want to speed level a class, go shaman (grindspots all the way)
    if you want a full playthrough and dont want to struggle, go mage

    If you want to stick with warrior i'd suggest either just use some random melee build with giant's bracer and scarlet veil and polaris and whatnot or use a spell build with venison, marius' prison, holy greaves (switch to kratke at level 58), anchoryl, 2 random rings (preferably concentration), reminiscence, durum's serenity, and whichever spear has a high enough base dps
    Builds really don't matter until level 90+ since you won't keep them for long anyway.
    Generally go for some dexterity, lots of intelligence, mana regen, spell damage, and good amounts of defense and agility for a spell build
    strength, dex, def, and agi for melee
