    I keep on trying so I can join a guild but a text box never appears.

    Check the thread to see if it has a little lock icon beside it and the text ‘This thread is locked for further replies’

    Nope, there's no such lock, and everytime I press the reply button, a little buffering symbol comes in the top right corner for a second and then disappears. Why?

    Maybe you need a certain amount of messages to do that?
    Like you need 10 to post an image. Maybe it's the same thing with guilds?

    Are you able to reply anywhere else? Try getting 10 posts as Minitinipower said and see if that changes anything.
