Why Can't I Craft?

I have been working towards crafting a powerful helmet for my new Shaman, but have encountered some troubles. I reached level 10 in Armoring, but I can't use all of the ingredients I want to! I keep getting the same error message:

In this instance, I was using the ingredient Familiar Essence, which I had the pleasure of unearthing the fact that it is also no trade, despite nothing anywhere indicating that it is. My main question is this: Do I have to reach the minimum level in each crafting profession an ingredient lists to be able to use it?
Also, if I craft an item with a No-Trade ingredient, can that crafted item then be traded?

You're using a level 10 ingridient, but the materials imply you're crafting an item below level ten. You can't do that!
You have to use the level 10 recipe, meaning you have to use the next tier's ingridients.

 

you need granite and birch paper

 

Also when you do this in the future, make sure you click the up arrow so you craft the highest possible level for that material
