Why Can't Boss Minions Be Farmed?

    In the rules it is stated that boss minions can't be farmed for experience or drops. I understand why you wouldn't want them to be AFK farmed, but how is it any different from farming normally spawning mobs?
    I also admit that I have not really fought a boss (I'm still only lv. 31) so maybe I'm missing something? If someone knows why this is a rule, please let me know.

    Because they are not intended to have drops.

    Edit: Most of them should have had drops removed by now since that rule was added a long time ago.

    The rule was added because a long time ago, people use to farm minions of a certain level 70 boss, which had level 100 minions that were easy to kill and respawned quickly.
