I usually have 2 clients - one with my wynncraft stuff, and one with just a tapemouse mod (I play on another server that allows it). After 3 times of accidentally trying to log in with my tapemouse client - banned.
I am not trying to get unbanned/appeal, 3 days is nothing, but I dont understand why you would ban people for using a mod - but they cant actually use it, they just tried to log in with it and got kicked. It is not like I cheated at all, trying to logging in with one of those mods doesn't even say what my intentions are, because, like in this case, it could have been a mistake.
I think that just kicking when using banned mods should be enough, and there is no need to ban players when they haven't cheated.

So why do you guys ban the usage of a banned mod without the player even using it?

I can imagine there being several reasons, but here's some potential ones:

    1. By limiting the amount of tries people have within a specified time, it slows down, or at best, even prevents anti-measures from being developed.

    2. It prevents people from spamming the server with requests from unwanted clients.

    3. Every system can fail, and giving people more chances to try and take advantage of that without a punishment or some sort of a whole lock-out would make Wynn more prone to people actually getting through with unwanted clients.

    4. Some versions of forge and some mods are known for butchering the warning messages from kicks. Why is this the case? Nobody knows, but seeing as forge alone can change your client's innerworkings, it's not a surprise. If 5 warnings aren't enough to get the message through, there's clearly something wrong, which is when a short temporary ban seems like the reasonable option.

    4. There is no way to know whether someone is trying to use the mods maliciously or unknowingly of the server's rules upon joining alone. Simply having a client that doesn't comply with Wynn's rules would already be a permanently bannable offence normally. I'd say that the 3-day temporary ban is a good mix of the 2 polar ends.

because in the rules it litterally says you cant have a client like that activated even if the features are disabled
