    I've done some searching and found out that something similar is called the crafting book in minecraft java edition, but any guides on how to remove it don't work for me (I'm running regular un-modded 1.12.1). It isn't that big of a deal but it is messing with many years of muscle memory. It should be pretty obvious in the picture below what I am talking about

    you need to click a book (invisible in wynns rp) under the 4x4 crafting grid
