    Heya.

A warm hello to all the "adults" our here, my enemies and rational people alike. This is just another one of those threads that has probably already been posted a thousand times before and will be posted a thousand times again. Now aside of all the sarcasm, what would be the things that defined your childhood? I'm talking about activities, video games, tv-shows and even cultural phenomena. For me there's a couple of things.

For one there's Minecraft (duh) which I've been playing for quite some time. Even if I don't play vanilla Minecraft anymore and don't put many hours into Wynncraft either, Minecraft is without a doubt the one thing that made me the very, very (not) epic gamer that I am today. But you people know as much about Minecraft as I do, so I won't bore you any longer.

Then there's the thing that will probably be the bulk of this thread: Bionicle (which my profile pic/description/location/signature may have given away, but those will be replaced in no time anyways, making this post outdated so yay). There's probably some (or a lot, what do I know?) people that know what it is, but let me explain. In 2001 the LEGO company was doing pretty terribly financially and basically thought "what if we just made action figures because those are cool except we can make them cooler". And they did. What Bionicle comes down to is that there's these six elemental biomechanical heroes (Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Stone and Ice, just don't ask about Earth/Stone) called "Toa", which are made of unique Bionicle and LEGO Technic pieces (or the Character and Creature Building System, but that's beside the point because the second generation of Bionicle isn't really something I experienced or are very fond of) and they had these wacky functions like twisting their arms or being able to shoot a projectile or both for that matter. To accompany the Toa there were usually six villains with elements corresponding with the elements of the Toa (some years excepted) which were often just as awesome. It was really a multimedia franchise with the being a big story being told across short animations, comics, novels, video games, commercials and even four movies. And by big I mean really, really big. Big as in have fun reading all this shit because some idiot/genius (Greg Farshtey) took the time to write so much lore for a line of toys that it would take the children playing with them their entire lifetime just to kinda sorta understand it. Anyway, it's awesome and what's even more awesome is the fact that there is still a super dedicated fanbase which has spawned many memes and even porn if you look hard enough (don't look at me) that still tries to perpetuate the legacy of Bionicle.

Speaking of LEGO in general. I just want to talk about how fucked up it has become. I don't think I'm talking from the old-man-hating-everything-that's-new-perspective either. The website is now (I don't know for how long this has been the case) divided between an adult and a children's section and if there's anything that gets my blood boiling, it's bad web design. The kid's section is just one big clusterfuck of colour and it's so hard to navigate that it puts The Great Maze to shame. Furthermore, the lineup of themes seems to just be terrible. Why are there three LEGO themes with things from DC? Why are there no more cool unique LEGO universes? What we get now is Ninjago, which is somewhat acceptable I guess, Nexo Knights and fucking Elves. Am I stupid or does this pale in comparison against the likes of Mars Mission, Exo Force, Bionicle and dare I say even Hero Factory, as much as I have a great hatred for it?

Anyway that was my nostalgia trip turned into rant. Please tell me similar experiences of yours. The alternative is of course letting this thread die. I also realised I use way to many parentheses. Either way, have fun telling your story and take care. That's all from me.

Just wondering, if you're 18 years old like you info tab would suggest, how did you pick up Super Mario World? Through an older sibling or something else?

Eh I get where you're coming from because it was in essence LEGO's take on action figures, but you can make some crazy stuff with it, especially if you mix it in with enough technic pieces. MOCing with Bionicle requires you to buy specific pieces or sets though since from the normal sets you usually won't have the right pieces which makes creating your own stuff a real hassle.

Gaming has pretty much made up majority of my life, so I guess I could list some games that to me is the most notable.

Runescape: I mean, it's the first game I've ever played and I still play it to this day. The community is still strong and it's still a whole lot of fun.
Halo: Pretty much the FPS game that helped set the foundation for me of having good aim and reflexes. The skills I got from this game soon carried on to future fps games that I play today.
Starcraft 2: Okay, I suck at it, but being the fact that it's an esport game led me into considering into going competitive. I'm not good at RTS games, but at least it's enjoyable.
