    Like why do I need a mining level of 15 to start rise of the quartron? I really hope this doesn't become a thing for more quests.

    Shouldn't be in the game imo. Even if it's "very low" it's still unnecessary, professions should be an optional route

    I personally am okay with prof level on quests though (as long as it doesn't take 10 hours beforehand), and I guess no one sane would ask for a mining level 100 req for a quest.
    But, yes,
    this has to be dealt with first, no "content" should be just clicking for 46732649713 hours without your brain cells staying alive, and no content should be locked behind a tedious af grind. (Even though it doesn't take long for now)

    I'm okay with needing the levels in the quest, but not as a req, because it lets you have one prof class

    Professions giving access to Easter egg areas and being used in secret discoveries is fine but they shouldn’t be used in quests.

    Every thread that's been made about profession level requirements has been
    "I don't like quests requiring profession levels"
    and to zero surprise everyone agrees

    I feel like the design has gotten enough criticism from the community to warrant some sort of explanation from the CT (if there has been one I haven't seen it). I'm genuinely curious as to what the thought process was for implementing this, and would definitely appreciate some insight.

    remember when jp said profs were a side thing and not at all a main focus of the game

    kinda seems like theyre being forced into a main focus of the game

    CT is too out of touch. They’re making what THEY want to see, what THEY want, not what the community wants. You shouldn’t make a game solely for yourself.

    the problem isn't "it just take how much time to get"
    the problem is they integrated something which is meant to be optional and deemed unfun my the majority of the community into quests, which is main content. And people are discouraged to do profs because of how tedious and boring it is.

    The only thing you use profs for in the quest is unblocking a tunnel with resource nodes and a gathering xp boost in it. It happens after the main story of the quest and adds nothing to it.

    and that is what i fear. level 100 is a bit of an overstatement, but you get the idea. this is already the absolute maxium the reqs can stay at.

    I don't mean that "omfg level 15 is a big fucking deal don't do it in quest it take 10 hours to level it up", but what I dislike is you have to do it (which is disliked by many) to begin with.

    Also look at shadow of the beast, it requires 3 gathering for level 20. Actually there are some more that has prof reqs but I forgot

    crop failure has a requirement too. level 20 farming.
    technically underwater has one, but its lv 1 so it doesn't really have an effect.

    This is just straight up false, but cool thanks for your opinion!
    I think that profession requirements would work a lot better if professions weren't class based but rather shared between all of your classes, but that's probably an unpopular thing to want, I don't think they are great as is though; professions should also then somehow be integrated into the gameplay even if it is just getting rid of an obstacle like in the tutorial imo.
    I really don't like your attitude that we are this self centered hivemind that wishes to mould the game in a way that WE, and only WE, see fit. We get tons of feedback and it is super easy to miss one thread, or one complaint, about a certain thing because there's an incredible amount of feedback (and at times just genuine toxicity lol) being thrown at us. I'm not a GM or anything, but I also know that sometimes applying that feedback is extremely difficult (e.g: all the stuff about cutscenes). When I was adjusting tiny bits and pieces of Eltom during Hero Beta to tailor it to the feedback of players, it was super hard to find good feedback and apply it, even though all I did was just build shit, I can't imagine how difficult that would be on a quest level/gameplay level. The CT aren't perfect by any means and we can do a better job in lots of things, but please don't act like we are some evil entity that wishes to ruin your game, all of us are volunteers that decided to make stuff for the game because we love the game.
    (not an official statement by any means and please don't treat my opinions as the opinions of the CT - this is just what I think.)
    I'll bring up this whole professions requirements thing in our chats though.

    Quests having profession level requirements is completely fine if executed right. I think the complexity of professions needs to be watered down a lot and then the progression needs to be stretched out. Make it easier to understand and perform and give us higher ceilings to reach. Then having a handful of quests with profession requirements would be reasonable.

    mhm yes.
    However profs are quite notorious for being tedious in game, so before adding everything prof related in quest they should make profs actually fun, instead of just clicking for 3453223751472 hours and walking back to the city and forth in dual prof bombs.

    I feel like they should make hidden rewards around the map you can only open if you have a certain profession level in gathering
    Destroying boulders with mining
    Cutting haybales with farming
    Getting trees out of the way with woodcutting
    Catching the big fish thats protecting the cave entrace with fishing

    Rewards wouldnt be anything major, like a nice ring with cool stats, an extra T3/4 chest whenever you are lootrunning around that area or some money even
