What is the darkest quest in Wynncraft?

Title, choose what you think is the darkest quest in wynncraft.
I have added quests that I think are in the "dark" zones, but if what you think is not on the list, feel free to comment on which one you think is the darkest.

(Dark means that the quest involves literally dark themes, grotesque images, murder, and other things that are considered crueler than normal activities. It would be easy if you consider these as anti-family-friendly quests.)

 

AJB and AJF are the darkest imo (they are in the same storyline so)
It isn't just about you seeing and going through life and death and fighting some obviously twisted monsters, but also the dark side of human nature. The crew initially planned to sacrifice the 4th guy before Elphaba and Lucio's death (since the three are friends), no matter how able how the 4th guy actually is.

Also I personally don't think AHC is as dark as many thinks tho.

 

You didn't even put An Iron Heart on there??

 

story wise AIH is definitely the darkest one in my opinion

 

oh yeah. probably the "darkest" with the story, but it lacks dark imagery and themes so i didn't put it here

 

Probably AJB, as all of your crews get kidnapped and you need to explore the barren, mysterious, and omnious ruined city all by yourself

A Journey Beyond is the darkest one. You feed your dead friends' dismembered body parts to a giant worm in hopes that you can save another of them. This isn't even something the player considers until they reach the worm tunnel so the player actually just picked up the body parts for no reason

An Iron Heart is also pretty dark but I would consider AJB's stuff to be more fucked up.


If this list was for 2.0, I would definitely pick Hollow Serenity for one of its endings. I won't spoil it, but it's really fucked up.

 

AJF also kinda underrated in darkness tho, you literally have to kill your "best" friend

 

I don't remember having to kill the Seaskipper Captain

 

Honestly, dark imagery and gory scenes (at least to the extent of what you can make inside Minecraft) doesn't make a quest dark for me. For example, A Grave Mistake is kinda meh looking back at it. As for A Journey Beyond, picking up random severed body parts of your dead allies and making worm bait with it is such a ridiculous concept that it comes off as stupid instead of creepy in my opinion.
An Iron Heart Part II (more so the old, simpler, version) to me is a dark quest executed in a much better way. Memory Paranoia is also pretty good.

 

If I had to say, new quest in 2.0, Hollow Serenity.

There's a whole bunch of messed up stuff in there, including one of the endings like Samsam said. I'm not gonna say any more cuz I really want y'alls to experience it yourself.

 

I was gonna make a joke about Point of No Return being visually dark (you can't see anything in that quest) but i realized it fits the dark theme too. You are given the choice of dissociation and learn about the Obelisk and where people's eyes go.

 

Never really found AJB dark either. Yeah I guess you could say what happened to Lucio and Elphaba was messed up but their incompetence that led to this situation makes it almost funny.

 

Grave mistake, a journey beyond, forbidden prison, memory paranoia, and iron heart part 2 are the darkest ones I think

 

Probably Iron Heart 2 or ROL 3
I always found grave mistake to be one of the only ones that actually scares you a bit though

 

So, why is point of no return not an option? The idea it presents sticks with you in a way the rest of the quest here don't. Maybe I'm just biased due to my like of cosmic horror, but really, the idea that reality in the Silent Expanse is so unfamablity terrible, that not only does every human there choose to live in ignorance of reality in a fictional dream world, but it is the only form of relief that the opposing god can even muster for them. The horror of the place is so mind boggling that your own soul separates its will from your own in order to run into the light of ignorance, you only bearly choosing to stay after you have to continuely force yourself to accept reality.

Despite it being a puzzle quest and despite Wynns fascination with Cosmic Horror, that's really the only quest I can feel it shin through in terms of themes and anything beyond some surface level exploration. Not saying it doesn't exist else where, just isn't as deep else where.
