I’m intrigued to know which dungeon people think is the best, in terms of fun and why. For me personally I would probably say EO (though I’ve only beaten it once I think) because of how good the boss is. Like I was SCARED going into that fight knowing I was probably gonna get deleted by it, which I did, making it all the more satisfying when I finally beat it. Very good dungeon

I like Galleon's Graveyard because the challenges and gameplay are better than any of the other dungeons (Wynn Province rework when). They even kept the best part of the old dungeon (Boarding Party Stage), and made it even better than it was before.

Decrepit sewers is the goat. It’s a race to the finish with hardly any slow sections. All of the other dungeons have some amount of waiting built into them, but decrepit sewers is just all gas no brakes.

Lost Sanctuary doesn't have any waiting either tbf
    Or Fallen Factory
And Infested Pit only has a 10 second dialogue interaction

Lost sanctuary has the part where you kill creepers which is super slow, and then the boss itself is basically a cutscene. Fallen factory has the elevators, and a ton of waiting for dialogue, especially after killing wynnston. Infested pit is a close second to decrepit sewers, but the hanging man puts it just barely below.

Old Galleon's Graveyard when put alongside every other dungeon during that era was honestly the dungeon with the most creative rooms and challenges

While the rest had standard token rooms and parkour, GG decides to flip it over its head by giving us a really fun and challenging whirlpool section (in my own experience, anyway) and the pretty cool heat-seeking cannon mechanic which lasts throughout the entire dungeon, and to top it off even had a custom boat minigame which was pretty much unheard of for dungeons at that time.

Looking back I think a lot of us never really gave how advanced GG was too much thought. Good stuff

Right, and what’s interesting about it? The first room is just a bunch of melee mobs you can two-shot at level, and, while the design of the final room is pretty cool, it just doesn’t stack up to things like CGG or FF or EO.

Do you play dungeons for enjoyment or just to complete them as fast as possible? In the latter case, you can’t argue that completion speed makes for the best dungeon.

Why does this boss get so much hate? It’s a highly entertaining puzzle boss and is most definitely not “a cutscene”

You can’t hate on someone for sharing their opinion; OP literally asked what others’ favorite dungeons are. Just because you disagree doesn’t mean they are wrong. Sure, DS might not be the most challenging at level, but that isn’t the only way to judge it. If someone else thinks that Garoth is a boring boss fight, that’s their opinion, just like you have yours.

As for the first thing . . . fine, I guess there is more than one way to judge a dungeon. As for the second, I was literally asking why they held a certain opinion about a boss; an opinion I disagree with, but want to hear their side of nonetheless.

also sorry if anything I said came off as “hating on” someone because that is about as far from my intent as you can get

Yeah, I can understand what you meant by that rereading it.

Saying you are hating on someone is a little extreme in this case, I agree.
Edit: Honestly i was just angry in the moment and didn’t really think about what I was saying there. Sorry if it came off more aggressive than I intended

It’s not a low completion time that makes a dungeon good imo, it’s low waiting time. Dungeons are supposed to be repeatable content, so forcing the player to wait around just wastes time. If you want a ton of lore and cutscenes, put those in quests, or at the very least do what galleon’s graveyard did and make a speedrun mode for the dungeon where the most egregious cutscenes are taken out. If I’m forced to wait for the exact same dialogue to play every time I run through fallen factory, it’s not going to be very fun.

As far as garoth is concerned, you barely get to interact with him (when at level), as you’re mostly just running in circles around the arena waiting for more creepers to spawn. If you do the skip, then you right click once at the start of the fight and then wait for him to walk into the lava on his own like an idiot.

tbf I think decrepit sewers works because it gives an idea to the player what every dungeon will have. You get shown that there will be a couple token rooms and a parkour section. (and i'll be honest the boss fight isn't that bad if you have the appropriate gear and can't tank it)
It doesn't do anything interesting but it is one of the few pieces of content that actually teaches the player.
Every dungeon has it's own unique spin but decrepit sewers does explain that this is what you'll deal with in every dungeon.
