What Happened?

A couple of years ago, on release of Gavel, the Wynncraft team ran a competition in which IgbarVonSquid improved bosses won, yet I don’t believe it was ever implemented, why?

There was also promised a “main storyline” if I recall corrected, was that scrapped?

Well they did improve a lot of boss fights this update. Bob has 4 stages now, each of the 4 original classes, boss altars got tweaked, bosses can now combo instead of randomly using spells (which I don’t think was in Igbar’s suggestion) , and don’t even get me started on the Eye.

So I think the devs have gone above and beyond Igbar’s suggestion.

 

No. He recommended that bosses that had no relevance to lore but posed a greater challenge should be added, the closest that we've got to that is the wybel. His boss was not something that was ever planned on being released into the actual game, just a proof of concept.

 

While the thread is gone now if I recall correctly, him being the winner didn’t mean his boss was added, but they were going to strive to improve bosses as a whole (which he ultimately wanted). Another point of reference is when I made a thread a couple years ago asking where these changes were they said improved were still coming. To be fair, I’ve waned I’m playing the game recently due to some gripes with the map design (namely valley of the lost) and bugs that have existed for years that haven’t been fixed (dying and spawning in a town very far away). I fought Qira bosses and noticed the lack of improvement so I didn’t realize many were improved, that was my bad

That was my bad, I didn’t do adequate research before hand, I fought Qira bosses recently and noticed a obvious lack of change. I’m glad that reworked those bosses.
