    It was caused by a glitch(Not sure if its the right term) with skins, and Mojang did not like it. they also caused lag.

    they way they were implemented was kinda shady so mojang told us to stop doing it.
    so no, they are probably not coming back.

    There's 3 main reasons...
    1. As we added more and more items, it started slowing us down too much. It worked before the Gavel update, when we had max 200 items, but we're now at 2k+ items, and we keep adding more and more.
    2. It was kind of taxing on Mojang's servers, they didn't like that very much. The more time passed, the more challenging it became to keep the feature.
    3. The dirt-screen effect that happened everytime you changed armour was a bit annoying and made switching equipments more dangerous than it should've been.

    I think that dirt screen still occurs, but only once after logging in to a server.

    Yea, I dont like that very much, but except making noobs go "woa wtf happened" its not too big of a deal. I believe it's also only when you put your first armour on.
