What Does 'dodge' Do? (powder Special)

My question is: what does Dodge do exactly? I have 2 T6 Air powders on my leggings, and it says it does 6% more damage, and has a duration of 6 seconds. The definition it has on the Wiki is "Gives additional damage per time spent close to a mob. It resets as soon as you get hit or go too far." So would the amount of damage I do increase by 6% every second I'm close to a mob? (E.g. 6% x 10 seconds = 60%) Or does it do something else?

Rip, that seems crap... I should of stuck with rage. Next question: someone said rage only worth with earth damage - is that true?

 

It's not crap if you can easily dance around enemies with your high walk speed.

Rage only boosts earth damage, and Dodge only boosts air damage.
