What 2 Do With Powders And Crafting Ingredients

its my first time playing and im a level 28 mage, i have a lot of the items i mentioned in the title piling up in my bank and i dont really know what to do with them

actually, i dont even know what they do- can someone explain what they r for pls?
also i was wondering if i should be leveling up my professions or should i just focus on my missions first?

 

Crafting ingredients are for making your own items at crafting stations, and powders can be added to items to boost various elmental effects, like increased Thunder damage of decreased Fire defence.

Because you're level 28, you don't need to bother with leveling up your skills, focus on the main playthrough and then when you're lvl 80-90+ start having a look at crafting and skills if you want - it's not necessary.

Personally, I'd recommend waiting until 100-106 because loot quality, but yes wait until late game

 

Powders can be added to weapons to increase their damage of the powder's element, and convert some of that weapon's neutral damage into its respective elemental damage. Higher tier powders do this more effectively. In addition, if you put 2 powders of tier 4 or above and of the same element, you unlock a special ability thats can be charged with your attacks and activated by shift-left click (Or right click if you're archer)
