Vet Tag?

I recently saw a player with the Vet tag on his name in a very bright color, either purple or blue (I'm colorblind between those two colors) and he told me you had to play before Gavel was released. I have played long before Gavel was released, when "End Island" was a thing, when there were only four dungeons and the desert didn't have a river running through it. When level 75 was a huge achievement on the server and when Dernel Jungle, Rymek and Bremminglar were not a thing. So if it is true, that you had to play before Gavel, is it possible for me to get the Vet tag (I am a donor if that's required) and if not, how can I get it? Thank you for any responses, they will all be helpful.

Vip was reworked a lot, vip town got removed and no longer double xp for donors. Any existing donors would get the vet tag.

 

Okay, well since I'm a VIP, would I qualify for the tag?

 

I believe that you would have to have purchased VIP back before the town/old perks were removed. If you did so, try doing "/toggle vet" and if you did what was previously stated you should receive the vet tag. If it doesn't work, then you must have bought VIP after the changes, which wouldn't qualify for the vet tag (even if you played in early Wynn).

I beleive it was the ocean update that was the last update where you could buy VIP and get the Vet tag nowadays.
My friend bought VIP in the ocean update, but i still joined before him and i now have VIP+.
So you have to have bought VIP in the ocean update or before to get the Vet tag.

 

vet is a rank given to donors that bought vip/vip+ before the ocean update

I'd love to see that happen. I'm a veteran myself, and yeah it's great and all, but others deserve the rank for being here since 2014 and still being very active to this day.

 

I don't think there will ever be a second wave - Vet was added because people lost so much with the eula. The only way I could see this happening is if Minecraft bans any cosmetic items in the eula too.

 

As someone who's been there, and bought VIP specificly for the Vet tag, I can give you a clear answer:
The Vet tag was a part of a compensation reward for every member who bought VIP before the 1.12 (aka mob) update, that was because once VIP's had alot of perks that they dont have nowdays like double xp, access to VIP town (which got removed), pets, particle effects, horse disguises and so on. But becasue of the EULA they we're forced to "nerf" the VIP benefits so the server wouldn't get shut down.

I doubt more Vets will ever get added, since the reason for their exsistance is very weird and probably wont happen again (+ I'd be hella triggerd if some randi that joined post gavel will get a Vet tag)

 

I had a sheep, but no VIP, so I never received the VET tag :D

Was the VET given to VIP Players before VIP town was taken down? I wanna know where I got this "VET" tag from... I started playing late 2013 or early 2014..

 

The vet tag was given to people who bought vip before 1.12, "Rediscover the province" thing

I remember buying vip just before the update to get the vet tag

 

Pre-1.12, eh? Vet tag is only now starting to actually be old.
