SJWs. We've heard it all. "Feminists are ruining society!!!" "SJWs mean the END TIMES!" "Rape should be legal!" are all phrases that I've seen circling internet culture. The last one was from Candid though, so I doubt it was anything other than poorly crafted bait. In any case, the internet seems obsessed with wrecking "SJWs", and hellbent on making it appear as if they're taking the subversive opinion.

The "Anti-SJW" culture (often generalized as "alt-right" even though I still have no fucking clue what that's supposed to mean) have become more of ideologues than the actual SJWs, to the point where (just like true SJWs and "Cultural Appropriation") they're calling literally every single possible thing on the planet, and also in orbit of the planet because we all know that astronauts are actors paid for by the liberals to convince us that the earth is round, an SJW.

For example, as soon as Anna Akana uploaded her "rape prevention leggings" video, which had an overarching moral of "why don't we inhibit the masculine social pressures that contribute to increased rape tendency instead of blaming the victims?", channels such as "Feminist Lies" (which has the most hilarious name I've seen in a long time) uploaded videos about how, as the name of the example channel suggests, that she was somehow being dishonest. With an opinion.

The idea that an opinion can be "wrong" is fucking terrifying to me- and is what the actual SJWs were called out for in the early days. However, literally every single issue has to become super partisan for no fucking reason. The people who don't like a group coagulate into a sick mass of hate. On top of that, they start to form a scary image of the "opposing side" (as brilliantly explained by CGPgrey's video on Thought Germs), leading to overgeneralization, ad-homs, and extreme hate.

Now, that's not to say that SJW culture is somehow "good". It's fucking awful, and resulted in a similar way to how Anti-SJW culture formed around SJW culture, only it was much more slow on forming, and it formed due to conservatism, which formed due to progressivism. (If I may point out, the problem seems to get more and more extreme every single time another echo chamber develops.) The reason why I am focusing on the Anti-SJW circlejerk, however, is because it's largely neglected, aside from the SJW culture, and also that it may generate a horrifying new breed of regressive left that nobody wants to see, which will generate a literal doomsday machine somewhere down the line.

In conclusion, we're fucked. Either the robot singularity is imminent or the nuclear holocaust/human-caused climate change related global extinction will happen, depending on which side of the political spectrum we roll onto when the world decides to fuck itself in the ass. Rhed out, and I love lasagna.

What's this some new videogame

The first one, maybe a bit, the second one, not really, and especially not the third one. I don't know what websites you use, but damn this is some cringey and shady place if you hear these often. I see tons of shitposts on twitter and I don't even see the second one. Not even as satire.

This argument reminds me a lot about the good old days of Youtube Atheism, where people were grouping themselves as bands of atheists, except there's one problem that comes from it : The lack of a position doesn't require you to share any other opinions with somebody from the same position. I'll take an exemple :

What can you tell me about Christian A and Christian B without knowing any other traits they have ?
- They're both part of a religion
- They both believe in Jesus Christ
- They both believe in a God
- They both trust the Bible
- They believe in souls, to an extent

Now, try the same with Atheism, the lack of belief in a deity, and what can you tell me ?
- They don't believe in a god
- ???

In my life, so far, I've seen atheists that believed all sorts of crazy things, from people living inside your head, to conspiratards, to My Little Pony actually being real but in another dimension (true story, sadly). You'll find atheists on every issue imaginable disagreeing with each other.

Now, replace "belief in gods" with "labelling as a feminist" and you have the exact same thing.
There is no "anti-SJW" community or belief system, so of course it seems to be a gigantic shitshow with only the loudest cunts being heard.
In fact, I'd say it's the same thing with feminists, since feminism comes in many different shades and sizes.

But I see where you're coming from, Youtube got filled to the brim with PWND SJW channels, it's kinda irritating sometimes.

I'd have two complains about the video :

- Toby Turned is still innocent until proven guilty.

- "Why don't we castrate rapists since they've proven themselves to be untrustworthy members of society ?" killed me, to be honest.

I'm sure that girl would be thrilled to live in the middle east, where thieves get their hands/fingers cut off, and gay people have to get genitaly mutilated if they don't want to face prison.
It's her opinion, sure, but hell, I'd rather not live in a system that punishes you physically for a crime, then have the rest of my life/appearance affected by such a system. That's why I'm strongly against the death penalty on a moral ground.

All opinions, all factually wrong. Doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to express such views.

If you go to the realm of "should" and "shouldn't" though, then opinions can't really be wrong or right anymore. There is nothing wrong about saying "We should raise the minimum wage" or "We should kill all infidels in the name of ALLAH."

I was actually thinking the same thing recently. That's why I never tried stopping feminism, that's a futile idea. Feminism will always exist in my opinion, most likely because our species is quite gynocentric. Hell, even the most patriarchal system on Earth (The Middle East) have the "women are pure and must be protected from males" belief.
Also, "neglected" ? Well that depends what you mean, to feminists that come from the same perspective, I wouldn't be surprised if they think the same of their movement, that the "issue of feminist toxicity is neglected" :P

 

1. I hear phrases like that passed around a lot, but that's probably because I literally live in the 2nd southernmost mainland state (Texas is 2nd in literally everything) and grew up in a tiny-ass town full of neo-confederates.
2. I used quotation marks for a reason, to show that it is a title. If you just take words at face-value, then sure, I'm an anti-SJW. But language doesn't work like that, as with the word "feminist" or "black lives mattter"(how many parallels can we draw between two opposing groups? a fucking lot). Language is not concrete. It's an evolving idiom generator. Anti-SJW, as I'm using it, refers to the circlejerk, not as it's literal meaning.
3. The "castration" part was a joke probably, I haven't watched it in ages, but if it wasn't, I'm with you as well. I hate permanent punishment. Also, the middle east is irrelavent. This is the relative privation fallacy (i fucking love this fallacy). If I have a knife in my chest, but another person has two knives in their chest, that doesn't mean that I'm the fucking healthiest person to exist, the problem is still there, whether or not someone else is worse off than me.
4. None of those are opinions. They're statements. You can't make a "false" opinion, or a "true" opinion for that matter. Opinions are inherently subjective.
7. The Middle East isn't a system. You're confusing a geographical region with Sharia law. Also, I loathe double standards, so I absolutely loathe the unfair "protection" of women.

Except that my position isn't "Our system is perfect and doesn't need reform because look at the middle east", I was just pointing how this person might not enjoy living where her beliefs are actually law. I'm pretty sure if she was in the shoes of a person wrongfully accused and wrongfully sentenced to have your genitals mutilated, she wouldn't really like that system that much.
Obviously not a single judicial system in the world is the best one.

The statement "I think the sky is green" isn't wrong, because you think it, it's not refutable.
The statement "The sky is green" is wrong.
It all depends of what you believe is the opinion.

To me, "I think X" is a statement about your opinion, what you believe, what you think about reality; X (which can be wrong, since opinions can not follow reality, e.g religions, conspiracy theories, ect.)

Then again, it's just going down the road to semantics which I'm not usually fond of.

Well except me, not really. If I see banter, I just classify it as banter, whatever idea it may reinforce isn't really my business, I think I'm strong enough to not build strawmen in my mind, not like other people.

Yeah, but "Trump is Hitler" isn't. "I think the Sky is green" isn't false or true, but it's in a linguistic gray area. The examples you provided weren't great.

That doesn't make the issue any less underrepresented.

It's a default position, but most people don't get a fair shot at it, they're raised in a household where you believe like the others around you. After all, there's a reason religion and beliefs are bound mostly by geography, they travel like any "germ" :P
It's a default position to be born as an atheist, but as far as remaining as one, it's not the same thing.
I remember even having some notions of a deity as a child, but after looking at the evidence, after my brain developed enough, I made the self conscious decision to say I lack the belief in gods.

 

Same, but I was raised in a family of Christianity and a family of Antithiesim, so I ended up realizing that ideology is a load of shit and Occam's Razored the shit out of my beliefs.
