    It's not supposed to be guarantee life steal.
    War scream should not do ls. It's well known

    He most likely means that war scream has the properties of melee attacks, which allows it to trigger lifesteal and such, and that's unintended.

    I thought it was pretty obvious they didn't mean for exploding to trigger life/mana steal...or at least not to that extent.

    Yes; the Air Shout projectile factors off of melee damage instead of spell damage like it's supposed to, which means it can activate effects such as Life Steal. Exploding, while I feel it would be balanced to have to activate Life/Mana Steal on the normal chance, was not supposed to activate guaranteed. I asked Salted about this; his response was "I thought we fixed that".

    eh no? my build would still work fine even if exploding doesnt trigger life steal and mana steal
    and I dont rely on war scream for my build
