Unofficially Official Nintendo Switch Hype Train!

After so long calling it the NX for so long, Nintendo has revealed their latest console: the Nintendo Switch! A new home console with a detachable screen to play (presumably) any game on the go! It comes out March 2017!

Here's what we know about the console so far:

• Has a main "base" device which allows for attachment of USBs and other cables, known as the Nintendo Switch Dock.
  
• A normal controller used to play on the TV, known as the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller
  
• A screen used as the handheld device, the standard Nintendo Switch controller. Attaches to the Dock. When you remove it from the dock, the system automatically switches from TV mode to portable, no additional button pressing required. You can literally just grab it and go.
  
• Detachable remotes with control sticks and buttons known as Joy-Con Controllers (Believe me, I couldn't make up these names if I wanted to). They appear to have similar functions to the Wii remote. The motion control capability has only been shown using the handheld component though it likely works on the TV too.
  
• Finally, a controller known as the Joy-Con Grip Accessory. The Joy-Cons attach to this, forming a more traditional controller. A bit of speculation here: I imagine the Pro Controller is sold seperately considering this Grip controller exists.
  
• Also will have Breath of the Wild, a new 3D Mario game, and what appears to be a new Mario Kart. Possibly a Splatoon sequel as well.
• Also has Skyrim?
• Nintendo has a lot of third party support for the Switch. I mean A LOT!
• No backwards compatibility with WiiU or 3DS, so if you've got any cool games you still wanna play, better keep your WiiU and 3DS.

the Nintendo switch, ps4, and Xbox will all be better then each other in their own ways so I don't think this will kill them

When you think about the name "Switch" it's like Nintendo is telling all Wii U owners that "it's time to switch, bitch."

If Nintendo needs a slogan, they know who to talk too.

For people who didn't think losing their stylus was bad enough, we introduce the Nintendo Switch. You're getting set back at least $50 every time your couch eats one of those little controllers.

 

I think this will be the most profitable console sold by Nintendo in a long time, and it may beat out the success of the Wii, at least I hope. This device is obviously being marketed at a older (teenage to young adult) audience, and this console is all about being able to play any way you want to whether that's on the go or on your couch.
