    I'm a lvl 45 mage. I've got a buddy who might sometimes be able to join, hes like lvl 50-60 and an archer, I'm just looking for some buds to go through Tower of Ascension.

    ToA is not meant to be finished at level 45. Its meant to be finished at around level 70-75 and the further your own level is away from that the less xp you get. So I would wait before finishing it.
