Totally Bullshit Basic Math No. 3 Mage Needs A Nerf

TL;DR mage needs a nerf. So, last night I found THIS thread about the science of mage’s meteor and spoiler alert it has enough energy to destroy the moon 10,000 times over. But he was WAYY off about Mage’s power, for a very, very minor detail. In the Mage reskin, Meteor is renamed ‘Dead Star’. Yes. YESS. Alright, why is this significant? I have two words for you my friends: BLACK. HOLES. So, luckily, both of my parents are astrophysics professors, so I sat down with my dad to discuss this. After explaining the baseline, we discussed what a black hole with the mass of the earth’s diameter would be. A black hole with the mass of earth would have the diameter of a penny, about 2 CM. He also explained that black holes growth is linear. So if the diameter of our Dark Wizard’s black hole is 1 meter, 50x a 2cm black hole, that would mean mages can summon a GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKING BLACK HOLE WITH 50 TIMES THE MASS OF THE EARTH. @AMCBrosky estimated previously that mages meteor would be powerful enough to have enough energy to destroy the moon 10K times over. You, my friend, are wrong. Just a black hole with the mass of the earth would destroy the earth stupid quickly and permanently interrupt orbits and the asteroid ring. But we aren’t talking about NEARLY the same mass. THE DEAD STAR SPELL HAS ENOUGH ENERGY TO BASICALLY DESTROY THE ENTIRE GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKING SOLAR SYSTEM. So yeah, tl;dr mage needs a nerf.

 

However, sometimes, when stars die, they form nebulae or neutron stars. What if that happens?

 

I was intending to bring those into factor as well, but i first wanted to put out the product that you see. If it were a nebulae then we would die of the most massive explosion ever created by any force, so worse than a black hole just appearing. A neutron star however, i believe has far less density by about ~100 or ~1,000 times soooooooo It'd still be so incredibly deadly that it would certainly destroy all life on earth.

 

This is why we execute magicians.

 

We should probably consider that Archer's Bomb spell does comparable damage to Meteor in-game but can easily be compared to a grenade in real life.
