I have been playing Wynn for like 3.5 years now, and I have had an amazing time playing it. But, I quit once because of lack of updates, and I thought the staff members didn't care about the game, but then I returned a year later, and I have seen some huge changes, like the Gavel expansion and the Gameplay update, and that made me come back and play again.

After months of me coming back to this game, 1 update has went to the live servers, which is Corkus. To be honest, I was pumped as shit when the trailer was uploaded, but after it went live, all of that hype went away in 3 days. I didn't find the update that interesting, or that fun, so I felt that nothing happened, and now I quit, again.

I definitely understand that small content teams can't do much rapidly, because I once worked in a team for a cracked towny server back in 2012 and 2013, it was difficult to update the game with plug-ins, builds and new features in a short period of time, so we started doing very small updates every 2 weeks or so, just to fix some bugs and let the server run smoother than before.

Now of course, I can't compare a cracked towny server to this giant MMORPG server, but I know how it feels to work in a team, and what the feedback of players would be. And now it has been 6 months since the last so-called "update", and nothing, literally nothing has happened ever since, except some fixes for the new update in the first couple of days, some game-changing bugs are still here untouched, time and money are wasted because of these bugs too, and it's just this never-ending loophole for me right now, quitting for months, doing nothing, coming back again for the new update, getting bored again, and quitting.

All I wish for is for some activity, because it is literally triggering for a player who wasted time and money into this game, then quitting it few months later. I know that the content team is working the hardest they can, and I'm not trying to offend any of them, in-fact I appreciate what they do, but I would appreciate it more if I felt and saw more feedback and activity from them.

In conclusion, I think the system here should be changed, and this is my suggestion for it: Have 2 Content Teams, 1 is for small updates every 2 or 3 weeks, just to fix some bugs, and the other for the big updates and expansions. The team for small updates would have less members, and the team for the big updates would have way more members of course. For an update like Corkus, with this system I think it would have had a huge impact on the game, just like the Gavel and Gameplay updates, since some bug fixes can stall some time for big updates to be worked on, but when they worked on Corkus, they wasted time (no offense), because they have worked on it for months, and when it was in the live servers, it didn't affect the game that much.

As stated before, I hugely respect the CT for the work that they do, but I only wish and suggest for them to improve it.

The issue is we literally can't do that, as our configuration files which are required for all updates must be pushed blanket, as in every single file must be pushed, so as soon as we make any progress towards a significant update, we can no longer make a hotfix or patch without erasing literally everything they'd already done. Ultimately, having the team split into a mass-update team and a patchwork team would only slow things down, as the efforts of one would actively impede the other, creating a weird yo-yo of work pace, as well as splitting up our resources further.

Literally, I went to sleep and turned PC on again just so I can reply on this thread.

I'm so glad I am not the only one feeling disappointed. The game is stale. It's an MMORPG server with almost no MMORPG aspects.
I don't care about updates so much as others, I care about the gameplay. It's the gameplay that keeps you interested in the game, not quests.
And gameplay in Wynncraft is almost non-existent, especially in the end game. I still remember Grians words about grinding, ringing like a bell..."ew, grinding". It just blows my mind that an admin can say something like that on the MMORPG site. If that kind of mentality is going around the content team, the game is dead. RPG games rely on grinding. People dislike it because it was never rewarding. If you made mythic drops x1000 for the weekend, you'd have 3k people grinding for mythics. People don't dislike grinding, they dislike stale, unrewarding, always-the-same bullshit.

When the Corkus came out, I found it kinda interesting because I was leveling up at that time. Once I was level 100, done, lost interested in Corkus completely. LI is a wonderful idea, but due to a restrictive nature of Wynncraft, grinding LI for gear was a task not worth taking. It's an utter shame. Game has so many items which could potentially be used, but are not, because they are not worth it enough or some aspects restrict you too much. So many potential different builds and playstyles if only cards were played right.

Game offers nothing you can return to after you are done with the story. Even when the new update comes, if it's just the quests, people will be interested in it for 3 days and then the hype will die out and, once again, you will have nothing to do, and then wait another 6 months for another 3 days of content. Yay.

It's an RPG game with no skill tree, no crafting, unrewarding grinding, luck being too much of a factor, player skills not being appreciated enough, restrictive gear choosing... That's what comes to mind at the moment, I'm sure there is more. Like, okay, Wynn is a small team, but to not have an appropriate grinding or a skill tree after 3+ years, is mind blowing. You can't justify that. 3+ years bro, 3!

I'm loosing hope the game will ever have a decent end game gameplay. Every day I'm here, hoping for some spoilers or updates to bring my hopes up, so I can look forward to another Wynn day, but nothing happens. We are left in the dark with nothing to do.

I'm tired of writing such posts, I seem like an ungrateful little fuck. I'm tired of people reading my rambling and rolling their eyes. I seriously wish I feel happier about the gameplay, but I do not. As I already said it, I'm giving the game one final chance. If nothing changes, I'm leaving for good.
It breaks my heart to even think about that, as I love this place, it's like my 2nd home. I never felt more appreciated or/and accepted in any other place, but I can't take this shit anymore.

I have written a proper ending for Wynncraft in my book - a quest/new area that will properly tie off loose ends, and make the player satisfied with the game.
I'll apply for GM, and maybe try to get it implemented. I have spent a good month and a half working on this, and it is still a rough idea.

That doesn't fix the mid game grinding issue, but if this problem is brough to light as much as the Amadel Grinding issue was, The GM's will put there heads together and make changes to the grinding system. Hopefully.

Wynncraft is simply not a professional nor an indie game. You can’t have the same standards as you would other games. The reason for all this is the structure of the team and game. The team has little to work with in terms of minecraft, and like Selvut mentioned the code severely limits what they can do. Though the biggest reason is that most of the team is made up of unpaid volunteers who have to be directed across multiple time zones to work on different projects at once.

It’s just a complete mess that the only solution to it would be to kickstart the game, use an actual game engine, and hire new staff to work on the game. Even then the game might be a flop, due to that Wynncraft has a very small player base and small MMORPGs are dying out or almost nonexistent. Not to mention the huge risks of crowdfunding too. You just cannot fund a game with an average active player count of 1500.

Overall, it’s not worth getting upset over this because there is literally nothing the team can do. If you don’t accept this, you will always be disappointed with the state of the game. If you played the game for this long, just go play another game and have fun. Why torture yourself in this cycle?

Overall, I think hiring Apollo is one of he best chances for them finally changing some of this. It sounds like a/the revamp is coming in the next update, or at least it does to me, and if so, we could finally start taking strides towards a better game as a whole. I think that what we have is some of the best content possible with what we have, but I think that the main game needs repair before newer stuff can really be added, so don't get your hopes too high

    Nice Advertising

Also on a real note, tying off the lore for wynncraft would NOT be a good idea

Doing that would only allow side quests to be added, and block off a lot of story options. Semi-lore caps, such as mini plotlines, I would strongly support.
I.E. Decay Plotline, Corruption Line, Corkus thingy line...
Where each area has it's own unique miniature questline,
and a larger overall questline controls them all, but not in a huge manner
Plus adding that much, a HUGE amount of lore....

    All in one quest?

    One quest...
    [Or area?]
So one area with 1 quest? Your confusing me

I did not mean that I literally reveal the entire plot of Wynncraft in the one quest eg: The Decay, corruption and all that other mojo is due to this! fuck you theorists

That would piss people off and effectivly ruin the game.
What I made is a endgame quest, that... retires the player, and explains a few things (yes, a major thing, but nothing distruptive)
It'd be a quest for the end of the game, obviously

The problem with wynncraft is the fact that its almost like a single player game. Your not competing towards anything but yourself there is nothing to do but grind your classes to 101. Everyone resorts to making builds but in the end again your just building a build to do what? 1v1 people in detlas? Updates come out once every half a year and there fun for the first couple days. Then you have the people grinding for mythics and its like why? So you can have money? The playerbase is a constant circle there is a reason you dont see many vets on the server anymore! (Hint its because they all got bored and quit!* Still waiting for item lock update and still waiting for bank update for 3 years! Grind Grind Grind Fetch Fetch Fetch thats all wynncraft is. When you compare the key end game features of most MMORPGS thats where wynncraft is lacking!

There is almost no replay value of the game at all, that is one of the main reasons I stopped playing. The game also gets very boring at the end cause it's just constant grinding and nothing new.

One of the main problems I have with Wynncraft both the item and emerald economy.
    Simply put:
    Too many emeralds.
    Too many items.
    Not enough money sinks.

One of the things I liked at first was the fact that quests give more emeralds, as expected. Same with mobs and etc.
But as more and more emeralds flooded into the economy, I immediately regretted it. Too many emeralds meant inflated item prices. These prices can get so high as to require either doing more quests to get LE rewards on another class, or grind emeralds and loot with hopes that you get the item you want or something good to sell. Sure, loot bonus can help a bit, but not enough.
Not enough money sinks means more bank and class slots filled with emeralds.
The fact that no new tier (or some better way of storing of emeralds) at this point existing is quite a let down. Introducing a new tier can solve the Sixty Stacks of LE+++++++++++++++++++++ bank problems. Everyone hates bank classes, so

Also, having too many items is a bad thing. It limits the player from getting an item they really want, and forces them to go through the junk and sell the meh stuff to The Buyer. I believe quite a lot of items in the economy never manage to find a place in a build, but only a temporary stepping stone for a better replacement.

I also agree with pretty much everything said here in this thread already.

Also, Nether is 100% useless and will continue to be useless unless it is made useful and fun.

(I am currently tired. I will edit this later if the thread isn't dead or locked.)

If wynncraft had every quest wiped except for predominant ones (WynnEx, RoL Questline) and the fun ones (rise of the quartron, ???, 1k meters), and added 1 huge ass questline then the game would be 10 times better

The problem is that when they started off, they didnt have the means to do that so they just goofed off of salted's level 1 - 5 ragni quests
