(Credit to @NewFunkyMode and his friend Jack303_ for rediscovering this area and bringing it back to light)

In YY's talking mushroom dialogue hunt, there were 2 dialogues left. Recently, one was found in a super secret location leaving only 1.

If you enter the airship from The Hidden City, you can go back to the quest region. Then, follow these steps:
    • Complete the lockpick puzzle
    • Break the pipe and pour nemract whiskey into it
    • Go behind the whiskey table and step on the pressure plate
    • Go down to the engine room and open the trapdoor to the left of the engine button
    • Fall through
I tried this to get a screenshot of the mushroom dialogue that the original finder never documented and left with many questions

You see, there is a very notable item in this weird new valley area. A journal.

    Here's what it says:
    journal1.PNG
    journal2.PNG

My first thought when entering this area was that I was somewhere in the Canyon of the Lost, because the back looks like Ozoth's Spire. However, according to the journal and on closer inspection, it is in fact a volcano. Hell, you can even get up to its crater to confirm it. So what's going on?
Personally, I think it's a northern extension of the Canyon of the Lost that connects to the Molten Heights. It could also be an extension to the east but it's impossible to tell. The journal speaks of things we don't really know about in Gavel, like sorcerers and lost heroes. True, people get lost in the canyon, and Astraulus and Volmor are sorcerers, but i don't think these are related. Considering that the Villagers seem unaware of this northerly area of the Canyon, this might not BE gavel at all. What if it's another province beyond the mountains, unknown to the world? What if.. hear me out.. this is.. Morgor?

Yeah, I know Morgor is a joke, but think about it. I haven't finished Lord of the Rings so don't spoil it, but I do know that Orcs and sorcerers exist in that world. Orcs are relevant because the treasure hunter thinks the camps nearby may belong to Orcs, which is an odd assumption considering that the Orcs live in West Gavel while this would be east. Morgor is, of course, a joke about Mordor from LOTR, so seeing it actually in the game as a large reference to the series would be no surprise (seeing it in the game at all would be, though). I did say recently that I do think Bloomi existing in the game could be plausible later on, noting that Morgor probably won't because copyright, but that doesn't mean that it couldn't possibly be added.

One notable thing is that the explorer we see is confirmed to be a villager, as he attacks you when you first enter his camp which allows you a glimpse of who he is. This is really creepy though, since the journal says he slipped while climbing up to a gulch and died.

The ending of the journal also ends on a very cryptic note, asking the player to agree to dismantle ''the guilds''. Who are these lost heroes? Why do they want ''the guilds'' to be stopped?

    Here's some theories:
    • Ex-members of Tisaun Sodeta's guild who didn't want to sellout and left, somehow reaching this external area and being killed by a sorcerer
    • A team in this weird ''province'' who aim to stop some corrupt guilds in the area
    • No idea
This place is so mysterious, and what really sucks about it is that we'll likely never learn more. The reason? The map will either be a square or rectangle when done, and adding this new area north of Gavel is literally impossible because the Realm of Light occupies the space that it could possibly have been in.

Yeah, it's weird. I want to see what other people think of it

edit: this isn't new lol, made tweaks accordingly

Ok, so I've never done this quest so maybe this dialogue makes more sense in context, but what the talking mushroom says is worth mentioning:

What stands out to me is that the talking mushroom is very confused, even when compared to other lines of his. The talking mushroom doesn't seem to recognize this place at all. If this was just another part of COTL or Molten Heights, I doubt the mushroom would be that confused. I think that the talking mushroom realized that this area is very different from Gavel.

what do you mean it’s strange he doesn’t recognise it? 50% of all talking mushroom dialogues go under the “what is this place” format

I was gonna mention that but I didn't really know what to think
He rarely knows where he is in those dialogues though, the only exception is when you find his campsite

The talking mushroom is often confused about where he is, but usually not to the degree shown in the dialogue. The talking mushroom only really displays this level of confusion in a few different secret dialogues in the silent expanse and one in fantastic voyage, both of which don't look much like the rest of Wynn or Gavel or any of the islands.

How, what's weird is that that bottom bit of text when the 'handwriting changes' wasn't originally there, it just ended with something along the lines of 'poor soul'. Icebreaker did a video on the place way back and there was treasure behind the bedrock wall. Since that bottom bit was recently added, they probably forgot to remove the mob. OR and this is stupidly wrong but what if North Gaval (or wherever that is) becomes South Wynn and the guy was corrupted and came back to life? (I know that's wrong but just wanted to say).

Another strange thing is why the guy (can't remember his name) flies above that place when he's going to Theasead from Eltom. I reckon that this is the Canyon of the Lost but it's just another area that would exsist if the world was to actual scale, since in my opinion, the world is probably much bigger within universe than within the game we play, kind of like Skyrim's map size and Daggerfall's being so drastically different (though that's a bad comparison) - I hope you understand what I'm saying.

The actual COTL has no orcs though, so it's illogical for that guy to question if there are any orcs. Plus, Wynn has no Orcs either so that theory is probably wrong (plus, these are provinces and not countries/continents)

Also, I remember Icebreaker. He came back a few months ago and I watched some of his old Myth videos. Maybe I should make theories on more of the things he found in his old ''Myths'' series (that have yet to be solved like the silent expanse)

I know he says that, but could it have been a Gerten Camp instead? Not that that effects much but might be a reason why its there. Also I swear at some point someone in the staff referred to Gavel as a continent - I think it's in one of Grian's old promotional ones. Similarly that point actually raises something else: (that is a bit irrelevant to your theory -sorry)

    Province definition (according to google):

a principal administrative division of a country or empire.

Wynn, Gavel and Fruma are all provinces but what is the 'country or empire' that they are provinces of?

Another thing is that Gavel and Wynn made connections 100 years ago so as both are referred to as provinces, does that mean they are provinces of a different country? I'm sorry, I've just confused myself and I'm not too sure where I was going with this.

(The other problem is the flight route too, as I mentioned)

I'm pretty sure that province isn't being used in that way. I'm pretty sure that it's just being used as a country, since there doesn't seem to be any central government. Some of the Provinces themselves don't really have an actual government, so maybe even country is a stretch.

Fruma seems to be based on the Qing Dynasty which was a chinese empire featuring provinces so it's still possible

Gavel province has their own government, which is mentioned in some quests. To be the same as Corkus too.
I think Wynn province consists of city states and some small non-aligned towns.

He seems to have been flying away from the volcano which would mean that he is going North from Eltom. He ends up in Thesead though, so what probably happens is that when you use the cannon to get back on the ship and destroy it, he turns around to the place he actually wants to go to before you stop him

To expand on my point about the Qing Dynasty, all modern day provinces of China were once independent nations that lived next to China, but were conquered after they tried to attack them. China was more advanced than its neighbours, which is why they won. Similarly, Corkians come from Fruma and are gifted with Electromagic which makes them pretty advanced compared to other provinces (though i think they gained that power after escaping)

Personally, I just think its part of CotL that you can't normally access. The Colossus constantly molds the Canyon, creating new paths and closing old passages. It could very well be that this part of the Canyon was at first navigable, until the Colossus shifted the mountains and enclosed the area.

    Edit:
there used to be a grind spot with orcs in it, in thesead lower, but idk if it still exists[IMG]

That's one case of orcs, they aren't all over the canyon like Harpies or Trolls

Plus, the colossus probably doesn't mold the Molten Heights since people live there without their home constantly being wildly moved around (settlements in the canyon of the lost are likely moved around frequently with new infrastructure constantly being built), yet there's a volcano that we never normally see

Also, the Colossus didn't canonically move things around the canyon when this easter egg was added, which makes it less likely that this is the case

As for Revenant, those boots need to be worn to turn people into husks. There's probably some sort of relation, but apparently some guilds and sorcerer turned the valley ''heroes'' into husks

If Theasead Lower is that area close to MH Gate and inbetween Eltom and Theasead then that makes sense for the flight path

But that dialogue was added recently which shows that the CT worked in that area, so I'd argue its up-to-date in terms of lore, if you get what I mean. (I also think for some time that valley wasn't accessible since I tried to get in a few years ago but couldn't becuase they removed the functionality to open the trapdoor.

I think they probably added the extra dialogue when they added resource nodes to the area

The trapdoor is still broken but you can sorta glitch through it if you're fast since the barrier under it gets removed when you use the pressure plate
